Hours of ulcer-inducing shopping crammed between meetings, parties, and plays; a 72-hour wrapping frenzy; in-laws running rampant in the house--where's the sleep in heavenly peace? During the busy holiday season, it's easy to overindulge in the temporary and starve ourselves of the eternal. I'm Dreaming of Some White Chocolate will revive readers' true Christmas spirit. Filled with outrageous humor and poignant insight from Scripture, this book offers practical solutions for making the season less stressful and more enjoyable. Brief, stand-alone chapters provide a touch of heavenly peace as readers escape from holiday stress and remember what the season is about.
I have to say that 2 or 3 Christmases ago, I tried to read this, & I didn't divide it properly, therefore not really giving this book a chance. It actually was a fun devotion - humorous but genuine. I enjoyed it!
Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, it seems like schedules get jam-packed with things to do...then there's baking and Christmas card addressing. This book has 40 snippets to help keep our focus on the REAL reason we celebrate Christmas.
I think this is a book that can be enjoyed as part of the preparation for Christmas. There are no particularly new insights but the humour makes it worth reading.
