A solid western, it uses the normal western trope of ranch needing help from bad guys and a guy comes out of nowhere and helps. In this one the ranch is held by a woman and her kid brother and the main man in the area wants the land. Matt Rusk stumbled out of the desert and ends up at their door, he is a big man and seems capable but he isn't armed and doesn't like guns. This gives a different take to the tale, he uses his wits and his fists for the most part. He had his hands broken up so he can't really use a gun anymore but he is still someone to watch out for.

Recommend, I need to read more from Hogan. This is my second one from him and I am starting to appreciate his storytelling style.
