When her beloved stepfather died, Sarah knew it was time to set out on her own--to escape her evil guardian's clutches and discover the father she'd never known. But Sarah doesn't make it far before she crosses paths with Golden Eagle, the warrior who had rescued her years before. This time around, he vows no obstacle will stop him from having Sarah.
I love animals. I have 5 cats, ages 12, 12, 11, 2,& 2. I also have 2 adorable Chiweenie pups named JJ and Abbey.
The 4 youngsters in the pet department make me smile, laugh and sometimes groan each and every day. Recently, I got temporary (ha!) custody of my daughter’s 3 year old, Great Pyrenese named Shasta. We've bonded, especially her to me, so what do you think that means.... Seriously, she's a special needs dog and very sweet.
Each spring, we have a nest of swallows in our entry way and I love to watch the babies leave the nest and take flight.
I enjoy crafts of all sorts including quilting, sewing, cross stitch and knitting. Knitting and crochet are my current passions.
I also enjoy gardening. Through my love of all things Native American, I designed a 26 foot Medicine Wheel Garden. It is a big project but one that I enjoys, except when the weeds threaten. Right now its uncertain who is winning this war.
Camping, fishing, biking and hiking (when not hot) are other outdoor pursuits I enjoy with my husband of 35 years.
I am, of course, an avid reader. I hate cooking and housework and love to listen to a wide variety of music, including Neil Diamond, Celtic, Native American, Classical, and mood music (bagpipes and howling wolves drive my family nuts). My current favorites are Blackmore's Night and David Lantz
I love to hear from my readers and I try to answer all my mail but sometimes it takes a while. Be patient. And check back here for the latest news of my books.
Bio
Native American/Western romance writer Susan Edwards is the author of the popular “White” Series. She was nomination for Romantic Times Career Achievement Award for Western Historical and Reviewer’s Choice Best Book Award.
She is very pleased to be able to offer to her readers her White series in Digital Format. Her SpiritWalker series is also becoming available in digital format starting Summer 2013. Susan is also working on a new White book, a reunion of characters that she hopes will be available December 2013.
The final book in this set of four re-released books in Susan Edward's "White Series" is "White Wind". This book was actually the first of the series that was published, telling the story of the little girl we meet very briefly as a toddler in "White Dawn". As I am the type of reader, at times, that likes reading things in chronological order, I was pleased with the chance to start this series in the correct chronological order. Though, as I mentioned in my previous review, I would recommend reading "White Wind" before "White Shadows".
Just as her other stories are, "White Wind" is another fabulous addition to this series. We have the opportunity to see someone not raised by Native Americans adapting to their society. What I still find so wonderful about this series in these first four books is that we get such real characters to enjoy watching evolve, love, go through sorrow and joy, but we also are given a glimpse into a way of life that seems so glossed over in other pieces of fiction we see that are set during this time period.
This series is wonderful so far and I am looking forward to the re-release of the next set of four into e-book format.
This review is for Susan Edwards entire White saga... I loved reading these books. My favorite(s)? White Wind and White Wolf. These two books feature traveling across the South Dakotas and other territories. Being a travel aficionado, I loved the way that the plains pretty much what was seen were described. I also liked that the characters had realistic personalities with flaws and portrayed their emotions of anger, joy, fear in a very pragmatic way.
This book would also serve the hopeless romantic that can't get enough of the lovey-dovey thing, but in a very humanistic way.
I really enjoyed this book and didn't want to put it down. I liked the storyline and characterization. The story flowed well and it held my attention from start to finish. I plan to read more books in this series.
Golden Eagle and White Wind/Sarah had a great journey! I loved that they were together for the entire book. They had wonderful chemistry! Can’t wait to read the next one.
My Review: I loved reading Sarah and Golden Eagle’s story! It was worth the wait. We first meet young Golden Eagle in White Dusk (book 2) when he is kidnapped . . . oops don’t want to give anything away. Anyway, his character is both dynamic and humorous at the same time. Following the story and reading his struggles, both internal and external, was captivating. Sarah’s strength of character drew me to her from the beginning. Her decisions to do what is right and not necessarily what is easy kept me intrigued throughout the book. I highly recommend this book, this series and this author to all romance lovers (well adult romance lovers anyway).
White Series Comments: I wanted to review all 4 books at the same time in honor of the re-release of the first 4 books of Susan Edward’s White Series. I had not heard of the series or this author before, but when I saw an email from Netgalley.com stating that they would be available for review, I jumped at the chance to read a new series by an author I had not heard of before. I highly recommend reading them in chronological order (Book 1, Book 2, Book 4 then Book 3) but they can be read individually as well. There are currently a total of 12 books (I believe) in this series. I plan to find the rest of the White Series by Susan Edwards to continue the journey began in White Dawn (book 1)
A Treasured Favorite! White Wind is one of the best historical western romances I have ever read. Every reread is like curling up with a hot drink and warm blanket on a cold day and visiting with old friends. The entire White series is filled with action, love, passion, tribal mystique and majesty, as well as the mixing of two cultures that is a benefit to both. Every fan of historical western romance should have this series on their To Be Read list.
