San Francisco is one of my favorite places and the setting for most of my mystery/thrillers. It's diverse, exciting, and easy for a killer to move around!

NEWEST RELEASE: ONE BAD THING: 3rd in the Doucette mystery series. A body has washed ashore. As Homicide investigator Doucette hunts for evidence, he finds several suspects who all had motive and opportunity.

THE BLACKEST NIGHT: a paranormal mystery set in San Francisco and the 3rd in the Jackson series. When a wrongful conviction is overturned and an innocent man is set free, he believes his darkest days are behind him, until the night he is attacked in an alleyway.

STONE COLD: a psychological thriller. The mysterious deaths of three high-flying corporate executives stun the Oxfordshire community.
(Stone Cold is set in the beautiful English Cotswolds).

HIDE AND SEEK: Suspense: A private party takes a chilling turn when a guest disappears.

Bestselling psychological thriller, MADNESS AND MURDER: homicide cop Mac Jackson is on a collision path with a civilian in his hunt for a killer.

No Alibi (Kindle Edition)by Jenny Hilborne

When I read Madness and Murder by Jenny Hilborne, and was so impressed by this author that I ordered No Alibi to read on my Kindle.I love reading mystery suspense thrillers and this author excels in this category. This book was amazing! She really knows how to write...and allows the reader to follow close behind. I couldn't put this book down.

Jenny Hilborne has created a great mystery with interesting characters. Isabelle Kingsley is a woman on the edge because she's found that her husband is cheating on her. She's been married to Clark for six years and thought their marriage was happy and doing well, but she suspects something is going on and presumes it is an extramarital affair. She also knows that her best friend, Darius Martin, is avoiding her. He must know something about Clark's behavior, but Darius has his own problems to worry about, namely blackmail. Who's blackmailing him? Georgia Legg is blackmailing Darius, and he hopes that Isabelle will never find out about it. To make matters worse, Georgia is the other woman in Clark's life. Isabelle receives anonymous confirmation that Clark is definitely having an affair in the form of a sonogram of Georgia and Clark's baby. Just when things look like they couldn't get any worse, Georgia is murdered with Isabelle's gun and Isabelle has no alibi for the time of the murder. What follows is the investigation into the murder. Inspectors Doucette and Beaumont ponder as they investigate Georgia's murder. It doesn't help that there may be a mad woman on the loose, another woman from Clark's life, his ex Fitch. But how does Fitch tie into the murder and why hasn't she targeted Isabelle as promised a few years back?

No Alibi is a quick and enjoyable read. If you like reading mystery suspense thrillers, read this book.I don't think you will be disappointed.

Ms. Hilborne has crafted a great mystery with interesting characters. Isabelle Kingsley is a woman on the edge because she's found that her husband is cheating on her. She's been married to Clark for six years and thought their marriage was happy and doing well. She knows that something is going on and presumes it is an extramarital affair. She also knows that her best friend, Darius Martin, is avoiding her. He must know something about Clark's behavior, but Darius has his own problems to worry about, namely blackmail. Who's blackmailing him? Georgia Legg has Darius over a barrel, financially speaking, and he hopes that Isabelle will never find out about it. What follows is a topsy-turvy investigation into the murder. Is Isabelle a suspect? Did Darius commit the crime to get out of the blackmail? Perhaps Clark wanted to permanently end the relationship with Georgia? These are questions that Inspectors Doucette and Beaumont ponder as they investigate Georgia's murder. It doesn't help that there may be a mad woman on the loose, another woman from Clark's life, his ex Fitch. But how does Fitch tie into the murder and why hasn't she targeted Isabelle as promised a few years back? I could answer that question but then you wouldn't need to read No Alibi for yourself, and you want to read this book. No Alibi is a quick and enjoyable read that is perfect for a lazy afternoon or weekend. I'm looking forward to reading more from Ms. Hilborne in the future.

Awesome mystery from a fresh, new voice.

Or at least, new to me. Jen Hilborne is a surprisingly articulate American--for a Brit. I'll admit to knowing in advance that this transplanted author hailed from the U.K., so I think I subconsciously expected those little Brit-isms to slip in here and there. Not that that would be bad, mind you. :)

This story was not one more big cliche. Different characters, different settings, different storytelling. Hilborne comes off like a seasoned pro at this stuff. It would have been very easy to stereotype the relationship between the heroine and her male best friend, but Jen took a more realistic approach. Suffice to say that Darius doesn't walk with a lisp.
(And yes, I meant to type "walk".)

I bought this as an ebook for my nook, but read part of it on my smartphone with the nook app. Convenient for me, since I couldn't wait to get back to it as the mystery built. I'll be downloading Hilborne's MADNESS AND MURDER next!

Isabelle suspects her pilot husband is cheating on her with a flight attendant. Her best friend Darius is hiding something. Proof that he is cheating comes in the mail and Izzy takes measures to lock Clarke out of their home and her life. Meanwhile Isabelle suspects that Clarks psychotic ex-girlfriend is stalking her again. When Clarks lover Georgia Legg is found murdered. Isabelle, Darius and Clark have loads of secrets, motive but no alibis.

Another riveting page turner. It is chock full of suspense and a little bit of romance between Isabelle and the lead detectives along with betrayal. For anyone who loves a great plot and edge of your seat nail biting suspense I recommend No Alibi and give it 5 stars.

Another amazing story by Jenny Hilborne! I'm normally a fantasy reader but this story had enough of everything else to keep me hooked and turning the pages (despite the lack of elves LOL)
If you love a good mystery, with even a touch of romance thrown in too, be sure to read this one! Loved the characters and setting. Lots of twists and turns to keep you guessing right til the end! Be sure to check out her first book Madness and Murder too. You'll be hooked!

This mystery novel is very well written. I enjoyed reading it and it reads really quickly and easily. The characters are pretty well drawn out and you are put into the minds of just about everyone of consequence so you kind of have a view of everything that's happening. However, it would have been so much better if I didn't see all the plot twists and the culprit from a mile away. It was still enjoyable, but in a mystery I'd like a little more. . . mystery. Maybe being in everyone's mind gives away too much or maybe the world is drawn a little too clearly. There weren't nearly enough gray areas to be surprising. I hope there is another book because there are some loose ends that need to be tied up and I 'd like to see where Doucette is headed. Anyway it's a fun read and the writing makes it enjoyable even if you do have it all figured out.

I agree with another reviewer. This reads like a b-movie. Not one of the characters is believable or appealing or multidimensional. And there really was no mystery.

The story is about an apparently happy, well-adjusted woman but the character reads like she's a recluse with a victim complex. Her best friend is a gay model who seems to have nothing better to do than drink and smoke joints. You never get any idea about her loser of a husband. Then there is the cops ... Sorry, I met Jenny Hilborne at the LA Festival of Books and liked her a lot (that's how I got two of her books) and I hope her writing develops. But this is a slim story with nothing much going for it.

I loved No Alibi written by Jenny Hilborne. It’s a thriller that every woman who has a cheating partner will wonder if in some way it happened to them what they would do. There are lots of twists and turns, a bit like a spider web, and the ending will surprise you….in a good way!

5 Star soap opera, 2 Star mystery.

If you like soap opera you might enjoy this book. I don't and did not. Mystery too easy to solve, soap opera dialog not my thing.
