As a racing skipper Skip Novak was known for clever manouvres, and one of the best is to start this book in the middle of the story - so many sailing books founder by being a list of sail changes, wind shifts and petty arguments amoung the crew. In honesty, his first couple of chapters are a bit clunky but he soon develops a style which is very readible and leavened with plentiful colour photos and charming chartlets. If you've ever skippered the crew of a sail boat Novak's story will be gripping and relatable, and if not there are plenty of glossaries available on line. The boat has had an 'eventful' life, much of which is documented here, but was last in the media in 1988 when a royal navy submarine collided with it...
