Fabulous recipes for chocolate chip, peanut butter and thumbprint cookies with good notes on technique and ingredients

I purchased this book this past weekend in Amish country with my friend Kathy. The simple illustrations are what drew me to the book, the recipes prompted the purchase. While there is nothing earth-shattering or overly-complicated within, there are some truly delightful treats that I can't wait to bake with the help of my son. The book's focus is on thanking people with baked goods (hence the title) and in our busy, busy lives this lets the recipient know you're really grateful. Nice!

This is a very sweet book with excellent recipes. The author definitely comes across as a 'cat lady', but she seems like the kind of person that you'd want for a neighbor (especially if she's coming up with treats like these!). The recipes range from beginner to intermediate, and her tone is very warm.
