I thought this was a really good test prep book. First, I liked how the answer guides to the practice tests explained the answers. The diagnostic test at the front was a helpful way to focus my studying on the areas that I needed the most practice in. Second, the review sections were concise, but felt complete to me. They hit all the high points I remember seeing on the test. I thought the section in the English language skills review with commonly misused/misspelled words was especially useful. Third, in addition to two full-length practice tests, the answer guides actually explain the answers, so if you get one wrong, you aren't left floundering to figure out why.

I also purchased the study guide available through FDOE for this test and found it really wasn't necessary. The same information in the FDOE study guide is also covered in this book, and this book contains a lot more on top of that (review sections, more practice questions, full-length practice tests, etc.). Basically, if you only purchase this review guide, you won't be missing anything if you don't get the official FDOE one as well.

It doesn't align the competencies within (14) to the current exam competencies (9) though it was published the same year. It does have a lot of information I saw in my teaching courses, along with a significant amount I didn't. The practice questions had similar language to the exam questions and at least two seemed exact.
