Poodlena is a star. Every day she powders and pinks herself to perfection. She is one amazing pink poodle. And every day she parades through the park, keeping clean, keeping perfect. But one day, after a lot of heavy rain, poor Poodlena is knocked right off the path by another dog, and after falling into some increadable mud, she is, well, a new dog. She never knew playing could be so much fun! Now Poodlena still primps and pinks herself close to perfect... but always saves time for playing with friends too. Reviews "Witty." Those looking for a story book full of pompadours, pedicures, and pages of primping will not be disappointed. Neither will those looking for a pinch of practicality and plot be perturbed. Poodlena is pleasantly pleasing and so perfectly PINK.
This was my favorite book as a kid, to the point where my parents thought I could read because I had memorized the book. They only caught on when they realized I wasn't reading the actual words on the page lol. Now nearly 18 years later I still remember the beautiful illustrations and wonderful storyline for this book, and still adore the color pink. I hope more kids get the opportunity to love this book the way I have all these years. A definite must-read for a child who loves the color pink, and is not keen on getting messy like I was :)
It was ok. I don't really have much of an opinion on the book. It's an uppity dog that's pink that just wants attention until one time at the park she gets covered in mud and decides she wants to act like a dog and fetch balls, as long as she can still be a beauty queen.
A nice story about playing and enjoying yourself, even if it means getting a little messy. A perfectly coiffed poodle goes to play with her friends, which messes up her appearance, but she learns to love life in the balance.
A retro, dog-based response to the pretty princess books that currently abound, Poodlena tells the story of a pampered pink poodle who learns that there’s more to life than looking perfect.
This book taught me a lesson about not teaching lessons!

This is another one of my favorite books to read to my girls. I LOVE the pink mountain of hair poodlena has! All the effort it takes her to be extra puffed up and pink are hysterical! She learns a lesson about what is important by accident and that is a good lesson for every girl! The pictures are wonderfully illustrated. I highly reccomend it.
If the cover is pink, glittery or embelished with swirls and curlicues, my girls with gravitate to it at the library and though this is trying hard to teach a moral lesson against "fluff" I wasn't convinced that it was convinced. We were also a bit perplexed about the man running through the park in women's high heeled shoes.
Poodlena is a book I have read to students multiple times for conducting running records. I like it because there are only about 20 words on a page, has a lot of good vocabulary, and is a fun little story about a fancy poodle in the city who learns a lesson. It is a quick read and is a great resource for checking students' comprehension skills about the moral of the story.
Poodlena is indeed a glamorous and fantastic poodle who takes special care to always look her best. She never plays in the dog park for fear she'll get dirty. But one day after a rain storm, she gets dirty and decides to just giving playing a try. She discovers she loves it and it doesn't matter if you get a little messy when you're having fun.
amusing story about a pampered poodle who just wants to run and play like the other dogs. She finally gets her wish and my goodness, does she have fun!
A perfectionist poodle that always keep her image clean and fresh. Remind your students to be relax and enjoy the free time to play. Don't overloaded with work.
