Johnnie Wise, on her way to East St. Louis, runs into car trouble in Jackson, Mississippi, and meets a preacher who falls for her, but little does she know she is being followed by a private eye who is reporting her actions to Earl Shamus.
It seems trouble follows Johnnie wherever she goes...It still very hard to believe she's only 17 years old. I thought this was a good continuation of the series as Johnnie & Lucas's lives were discussed. Ready to see how she responds to the new accusations...
The book was good. Not as great as some of them. Still a lot of grammatical errors. I’m starting to think this is on purpose. We are in book 6 and surely all of these are not mistakes.
Mr. Keith Lee Johnson does it again. I'll be the first to say I did not want to read this book. I was growing tired of reading a book by the same author. KLJ hooked me with this one. I felt bad for Johnnie ( how much can one person endure)? Everywhere Johnnie went drama followed. This time around....she's on her way to her father's house (remember it's said that home is the one place where you can always go and you'll be taken in). Prior to getting there, car trouble takes place in Mississippi (in her life comes a charismatic preacher). Enough said....read the book. You will not put it down. Note: There is a book that follows (KLJ will hook you).
The drama continues for JOhnnie Wise. The twists in the last few chapters was unexpected. I imagine the sequel, "Little Girl Lost, Johnnie Wise in the Line of fire" will also be a good read.
