This was a very easy, beginner level informative book about Day of the Dead in Mexico and Central- American countries. It had lots of pictures and simple but effective details. It is a bit out of date but still works.

I think El Dia de los Muertos is a very interesting holiday because in most cultures death is such a final thing. Although families do still cherish the memeories of their deceased loved ones, they do not really continue to celebrate with/for them. This book provides a lot of information on the day of the dead, and I would use it as a reference book for my students.

This is great to have in the classroom to show different cultural holidays and how different cultures celebrate. Halloween is my favorite holiday and i LOVE halloween books so El dia de los muertos is a great addition for children to read and understand different ways things may be celebrated around the world.

Although it was definitely designed more for beginning readers, it's still a well-put together, informative book. A good beginning tool for explaining this holiday to children.
