I must say I am a big Edward Lee fan, and what that says about me I am not sure. The cover blurb for GM states "An unrelenting and irredeemable novel of gore-house porn and unmitigated black comedic horror" and I have to agree. In a way, this is a homage to Lovecraft, but of course with Lee's hyper-sexual spin.
The story concerns pledge week at Alpha house, a sorority in a small college in Rhode Island. The college is an all-women's school that basically admits the loser daughters of rich families. Ann, along with two others are forced to pledge as Alpha house as that is the only sorority that will give them a shot. The strange deal is that every, and I mean every, Alpha house sister graduates with a 4.0 and given the trio's barely passing high school GPAs they view becoming Alpha house sisters as the only possible way they will achieve a college degree. They (or at least Ann) knew the hazing would be rough, but this rough?
Ann, Hannah and Mercy are subjected right from the start to various ruthless sexual degradations; if you have read Lee's The Bighead, you may have some idea of what Lee can dish out. This is extreme Lee splatter punk, not the relatively tame stuff that was published by bigger houses. I am a little amazed that anyone would publish this! Lee's use of dark comedy is perhaps the only thing that made this palatable, but damn if he is not a master of that! If you liked Lee's more extreme stories, you will probably enjoy this (and like myself, I am not sure what that says about me); if not, stay far, far away!

Wow. Let's just say that this read was unbelievably boring. This book did not freak me out, nor were there any stomach clenching gag moments even with all the licking of unwashed ass-cracks and dirty dicks. This read was like a teen who gets to cuss for the first time and puts a whole bunch of cuss words together in a string of unintelligible syllables. Edward thought of dirty stuff you wish you could make your worst enemy/boss do to debase themselves and threw it all together for our supposed entertainment. I was NOT entertained. Wanna play a game of "Guess what this book is about?" This book was full of Old Manning, Bumming, Kenneling, Rednecking, Chimping, Fathering, and Monstering. (hint-if you know what sexing is, you can guess all of the above) So disappointed.

Już dawno nie słuchałam książki, która tak bardzo by mnie od siebie odrzuciła. Edward Lee w swojej powieści przekrasza jakiekolwiek granice tego, co akceptowalne, w rezultacie otrzymujemy książkę, która łamie wszelkie tabu, każe złapać się za głowę i dziękujemy niebiosom, że była ona tak krótka. W sumie jakbym przeczytała opis, to oszczędziłabym sobie tego, ale cóż, kto by sobie zawracał tym głowę?
Zacznijmy od najważniejszego - to nie jest książka dla ludzi o słabych nerwach i wrażliwych, naprawdę. U mnie skończyło się to na frustracji, niechęci do kończenia i rozmyślaniach, jak można napisać coś takiego i kto to wydaje - czyli dosłownie takie same myśli towarzyszyły mi przy oglądaniu tych debilowatych horrorów w stylu Droga Bez Powrotu. Mam wrażenie, że ten sam poziom, ale od książki człowiek jednak wymaga odrobinę więcej. Ale co wrażliwe duszyczki mogą się czuć trochę zbrukane po lekturze tej książki.
Nie będę nawet się wypowiadać, jak bardzo prostacka i wulgarna jest główna bohaterka i myślę, że połowę z tego, co mam do powiedzenia o tej książce trzeba by cenzurować. Pseudo katoliczka, która jest dziewicą, ale anal i oral to porządek dzienny. No kurde, poważnie? Strasznie mnie wkurza taka hipokryzja, dlatego co najmniej pięćdziesiąt razy miałam ochotę rzucić telefonem, a przesyłane M. cytatów nie zdało egzaminu, bo nie podjął współpracy :). Poza tym bohaterki są bezdennie głupie i nigdy, ale to nigdy nie zrozumiem, jak można świadomie wystawić się na takie upokorzenie, żeby zyskać miejsce w bractwie studenckim. Jest to ten poziom logiki, którego nigdy nie pojmę i nawet nie będę próbować.
Dlatego będzie krótko, bo nie mam zamiaru się frustrować i Wam też to odradzam. Nie wiem, jak wyglądają inne książki autora - jeśli nie ma w nich takich elementów jak tutaj to chętnie dam drugą szansę, ale jeśli mam trafić znowu na taką porcję debilizmu - podziękuję.

No long diddle daddle in the beginning it starts right away....and it is gross. But then it happens over and over again. Pretty much just more of the same "grossness" - just different settings.
So it gets kinda old even though it is disgusting. Then close to the end it finally "kinda" comes together even though I think the big why isn't solved.

Über Gore hätte ich mich wesentlich mehr gefreut als über diese permanente Spermadusche mit strunzdämlichen Fotzen als Anwärterinnen in einer beschissenen Studentinnenverbindung. So dumm und begriffsstutzig wie die drei Weiber (okay, außer Ann) kann echt niemand sein. Das tut schon weh.
Die Story ist so flach wie die Möpse von Mercy. Es wird geblasen, gewichst und in den Hintern gevögelt, weil Jungfräulichkeit sehr wichtig ist. Bis zum Schluss, aber den werd ich nicht verraten.
Natürlich ist es erniedrigend und eklig, was da passiert. Also so richtig eklig. Niemand zwingt sie dazu, letztendlich nur sie selbst. Irgendwie ist es auch lustig.
Aber warum müssen da wieder Tiere bei sein? Ernsthaft, das ist nicht so toll. Alles andere ja, aber nicht das 😅

Gore? Not really, IMO. I've seen far worse. And by "worse", I actually meant "better". I love gore, if it's executed brilliantly.
Disgusting? Duh. 'Course, yes. (Tongue bathing? Old manning? Kenneling? Bumming? Chimping? Like, seriously, why do you even have to ask? The least disgusting of all was perhaps 'Going Monstering'. But, you need to close your eyes for sure if you ever decide to go monstering with Shoggoth, 'cause he definitely ain't pretty.)
Twisted? Uh-huh.
Scary? Not at all. Seriously. This story is more like comical, to me.
Hilarious? Okay, there was actually one demented moment where I laughed at the stupidity of the situation. Please forgive my lapse.
Plot? Thin at best.

Sorority and pledge week
All I can say is wow this book was very graphic and explicit. This books follows Ann a misfit to society that enters this sorority. This is where the story begins she is tested and have to do the most disturbing acts for pledge week. Very graphic if you have a weak stomach this is not the book for you. Many scenes I literally said this is sick. Great read though and enjoy..

Japierdole. Doslownie te słowo wystarczy żeby opisać tą książkę. NAJGORSZA książka jaką kiedykolwiek czytałam. "Ekstremalny horror" 0 horroru za to Ekstremalne Zażenowanie. Książka doslownie opiera się na stosunku Oralnym i Analnym z wszystkim czym się da a fabuła zaczyna się na ostatnich 15 stronach (tak wiem to horror Ekstremalny, powinnam się przygotować na te obrzydliwe akcje tyle że mnie one nie tyle co Obrzydzily jak konkretnie zażenowaly i myślę że to glownie wina tego jak wulgarnie i śmiesznie jest to wszystko opisane). 0 w niej horroru. Nie wiem jakie chore fantazje, co autor ma w glowie pisząc taką książkę, oraz nie wiem jakim cudem jakiekolwiek wydawnictwo to wydało. Nie wiem moze po angielsku jest lepiej, ale te polskie tłumaczenie to po prostu ŻENADA, takich "krindżowych" tekstów, oraz określeń w życiu nie słyszałam. Nie wiem w ogóle jakim cudem przebrnęłam przez tą książkę. A poza tym wszystko strasznie przewidywalne.

I'm a big fan of Edward Lee's writing, but this book just had far too little redeeming value for me to enjoy it. Its extremely disgusting from beginning to end, and I get that he is pushing the envelope to create an over the top gross out effect, but it just felt kind of stupid in this case. I raced through the book in one day, but that was because I was just trying to finish the damn thing as quickly as possible and get it over with. I know that Lee's small press 'hardcore' stuff is an acquired taste, but I enjoyed the other books I've read in his HP Lovecraft mythos series way more than this one. This was just gross for the sake of being gross. Lee has often described his work as not being gratuitous, that any disgusting thing he puts in a book is there to propel plot forward, but this book felt like an exercise in gratuity. The plot is pretty thin and the gross stuff was laid on too thick for me. I remain a fan of Lee's but I can't say I'd recommend this book to anyone but Lee completists.

I would not recommend this book for anyone who doesn't already have a taste for Edward Lee. Lee goes far beyond himself in this one, with chapter after chapter of seemingly pointless gore(?).
But, there is an underlying story that drops hints here and there about where you are going. Its just a long slog to get to it. And, by long, I mean you are a good 75 to 80% of the way into the book before the story kicks in in earnest.
On the bright side, the book is a quick read and, if you keep in mind that there IS a point to it, the underlying story is worth the wait.

Pretty disappointing. I read Header, and loved it. This book is an odd attempt at horror through rather erotic subject matter. And bad erotica gets boring, fast. I will be reading more by Lee but this one was a skimmer.

sick and weird but loved it! Sorority pledges so lazy and selfish doing anything to make this special sorority. There is nothing off limits and I laughed a lot..Especially at the redneck test pledge. Easily offended don't read it..If your slightly twisted this book is for you.

Es war mein erstes Extrem aus dem Festa Verlag.
Auf Grund des Covers hätte ich es wohl nicht genommen, aber der Klapptext hatte mich soweit angesprochen das ich es mal versuche.
Dieses war schon in mancher Hinsicht sehr heftig und ist nichts für ein zartes Gemüt. Wer auch aber auf Extrem einlässt wird auch wissen was auf einen zukommt. Grad was den Festa Verlag angeht.
Die Geschichte ist sehr schlicht, aber die Handlung hat eine gewisse Entschlossenheit, was nicht zuletzt an Ann liegt.
Sie ist teils echt hart und zieht einiges eiskalt durch. Sogar so eiskalt das sie ihre Mitstreiterinnen anfeuert und zur Not deren Job übernimmt.
Gewisse Sachen waren mir ein wenig Zuviel. Tiere sind da schon ein gewisses No-Go für mich wie ich festgestellt habe.
Das etwas mysteriöse hat der Handlung noch etwas interessantes gegeben, da musste man ein wenig selber mitdenken.
Mein nächstes Extrem wird in eine etwas andere Richtung gehen.

This story was stomach quiveringly raunchy, completely over the top with no redeeming value whatsoever.
What this says about me for liking it...draw your own conclusions haha The husband and I, being the sick weirdos we are frequently try to "out gross" one another. Being as it seems the author set out to cover numerous taboos, recommending this book will certainly put me in the lead.

Sama siedzę i nad tym dumam.
Nie wystawiam oceny, bo nie rozumiem łączenia tego z gatunkiem horror, jedynie ostatni dzień inicjacji można go pod coś takiego podpiąć. Jeśli miałabym ocenić całą resztę, to książka nie zasługuje na jedną gwiazdkę. Jak chodzi o styl pisania, warsztat i emocje, to "Diabelskie nasienie" osiąga poziom wyświechtanego bambosza.

To nie było takie złe jak sie bałam. Książka zdecydowanie nie dla każdego i nie dziwie się, że wielu mogła nie przypaść do gustu. Imo czasami była ochydna i nierealistyczna, ale jeżeli odebrać to tak jak się odbiera dramaty fekalne to naprawdę była w porządku. A i jeszcze jedno, język był trochę płytki, ale może to po prostu tłumaczenie.

This book has all the things I enjoy from an Ed Lee book. Over the top perversity, crazy hillbillies, and Lovecraftian mythos. Not for the faint of heart or easily offended.

Edward Lee is an author I often sing high praises for but sometimes his work can be underwhelming and a bit too gratuitous for my tastes. His work can be disturbing, funny, intelligent, and very bizarre. He's written novels I love but sometimes just as you do with any author I come across a book that isn't my cup of tea. Going Monstering much like Trolley No. 1852 is one of them.
Ann has a tale of the time she passed pledge week at a sedate sorority house that housed a series of unimaginable horrors. Ann and her friends find themselves going through a great many sexual incursions and uncovering a great many unique kinks on their path to victory, some of which are illegal, terrifying, immoral, and most of all impossible.
Unfortunately, this novella just wasn't for me, it's a story with a couple of interesting ideas surrounding a warlock that created a coven of sorts to look up to eldritch beings. When the story focuses on this plot element, it's quite engaging. I enjoyed the first few pages and quite a few more towards the end, but everything in the middle was just one gross scene, after another and everything that happens in this is ridiculously silly, how our main antagonist got all these people to have sex with these three women I will never know. The narrative also demands the characters to not sensibly think through their situation with clarity to tell their story, which I find very off-putting when I read a book.
I'm aware this is an outlandish novel that's not exactly meant to be realistic but rather silly and insane but there were a few scenes in this that stretched the limit of my suspension of disbelief. I didn't care for the characters in this story. I found a lot of the scenes to be in poor taste and honestly whilst I feel the idea could have worked it's a bit too long overall and filled with a lot of padding. I feel like this story could easily have worked better if half of the gross-out sex scenes were cut out.
Overall: Not one for everyone. I'll admit I did enjoy this book at times and I had a chuckle or two, but this didn't connect with me. Some people will look it, but it depends on your taste for the bizarre and the outlandish. 2/10

This was the first Edward Lee book that I read and I knew in advance that his writing is regarded as sick, twisted, depraved and disgusting so I figured I knew what I was in for.I've read a lot of gory and sexually exploitive books but I've never had my gag reflex given such a workout!
Ann is obese, has failing grades and is in search of a sorority that will take her in. Alpha House has a reputation for taking losers and turning them into smart and beautiful girls, and Ann needs to make it through pledge week to have any hope of a life. But pledge week at Alpha House is going to be the worst week of her life.
You really have to admire Ann's dedication to her cause! She is smart enough to know what is going on and knows that giving up means having went through it all for nothing. It doesn't help that she keeps getting punished for her smart ass comments. I found Ann to be funny and entertaining and I loved seeing her reaction to each new challenge. I liked her twisted pledgemaster and the dark humour throughout the book which had you laughing as well as gagging.
So what is the twisted content of the book? Let me warn you what to expect so you can decide whether you want to read it. Sexual encounters with WW2 veterans, old doctors, unwashed tramps, rednecks, sports teams, monkeys, aliens and parents. More sucking than an ice lolly convention. Toilet functions in sexual encounters. The detail at times can be stomach churning so be warned!
It's not a book that I would read again as I doubt my stomach could handle it but I did find it amusing in a twisted way. It is definitely not for the faint hearted or easily offended!

This book is TABOO, CRAZY & SICK. Just a warning!!!!
Recommended to me by a friend I had a hint this was out there but really I had no idea just how far.
Ann White is a freshman at college. She barely made it in, her dad is rich and also disappointed in her. She is a fat, disappointment in the eyes of many. But she is pledging Alpha house sorority, where if you make it you are a star. Every girl has averaged a 4.0.
The pledging takes hazing to a whole new level. Lets just say their motto is an Alpha girl always swallows. That fact is tested as the acts get more hideous and taboo as the stories goes on. A cross-dressing maid, an un-wiped ass, a horny sorority sister, bums, rednecks, bikers, some animals, you name it.
Now if that was it this would just be what I'd call exploitative but there is enough story to make you keep reading.

Believe me, a two star rating is being generous here. This book isn't quite mule puke, but it does make it to the level of horse harf.
Need the plot? OK, this is easy. Three dumb girls want to get into a sorority where all members somehow wind up with 4.0 GPAs, and all members wind up looking like hotties. So, it's hazing time. Here's the summation of 3/4 of the book:
1. girls blow old guys
2. girls blow rednecks
3. girls blow apes
4. girls blow relatives....
...and so on and so forth. What's next, girls blow space aliens from Rigel IV? How about girls blow humpback whales and somehow don't drown? Girls blow celibate priests? (scratch that one, they like boys) Anyhow, you get the idea. This is three quarters of the damn book! What a waste. The only interesting part of the book was the last twenty pages, at least then you got a bit of a plot, and the 'secret' behind the sorority house and their success. Still, even the last twenty pages weren't that great, as the 'secret' consists of a badly overused device that everyone from 'Army of Darkness' on has used.
Honestly, I can't see why Ed Lee gets such praise. I've read two of his now, and the quality is seriously subpar. I may give the last one of his books I own a shot, since I got it for free and I don't want it to go to waste. (hell, I gave Laymon 5 books before deciding he was highly overrated.) However, I think I need to read some quality next, Lee has polluted my brain with bad writing. These books aren't horror books as they are reputed to be, they are just crappy sex books. I suppose 'Gone Monstering' might make an OK script for a German fetish film, but I can't think of any other use for it-certainly not reading it for enjoyment.

Czuję się zawiedziona i bynajmniej nie chodzi o sam fakt, że "Diabelskie nasienie" jest horrorem ekstremalnym, a do niedawna nawet nie wiedziałam, że taki gatunek istnieje. Całe obrzydlistwo, które w książce zostało zawarte, nie wywarło na mnie żadnego wrażenia i to w tym tkwi problem. Miałam być zaszokowana, obrażona i oburzona, a byłam... szczerze znudzona. Ciężko przejmować się czyimś losem, kiedy gołym okiem widać, jak nijakie i papierowe są to postaci, prawda?
Przez cały czas miałam wrażenie, że autor idzie po najmniejszej linii oporu, powtarza te same sceny, mając gdzieś intelekt czytelnika. Atmosfera była sztuczna, drętwa, kompletnie nie czułam grozy ani tym bardziej humoru, o którym piszą niektórzy czytelnicy. Czego by Lee tutaj nie wymyślił, to były tylko słowa na papierze i nic więcej.
Trzy dziewczyny starają się dostać do bractwa Domu Alfa, ale aby do tego doszło, muszą najpierw przejść przez upokarzający Tydzień Inicjacji. Ta historia miała potencjał, by być okrutnie dobrą, taką że aż biorą cię mdłości i odwracasz wzrok. Niestety zmarnowano go. Piszę te słowa jeszcze trochę dochodząc do siebie po drzemce, w którą wpadłam pomiędzy jednym opisem tortur a drugim, niech to będzie najlepszą opinią na temat tej książki.
PS: Nie skreślam autora, mam nadzieję, że kiedy wpadnie mi w ręce jego inna powieść, będzie lepiej!

Probably one of the worst books I have read in a few years.
I heard of the genre a few times from a friend and thought "ok let's try one of those once".
I will say it as it is, but this was nothing more than a really badly written fetish fanfiction by a 17-year-old who just wants to shock everyone.
I don't know if the whole genre is like this or if all books by this author are so badly written but seriously the storyline was just messed up and got more and more abstruse with each page.
It does not involve any plot twists that are really believable or even logical.
The characters are really flat and don't show many emotions
I was also very annoyed by the Zinnas or whatever his name was since his dialogue was written in a dialect someone who is not from the states can barely understand. End even as someone who used to live in MA this was fucking hard to read.
In conclusion, I can say that If you need something as stupid and without any depth, as the movie human centipede in a book this is your jam!
Everyone else - DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME with this nonsense!
