Gopinath Mohanty, winner of the Jnanpith award, and the first winner of the National Sahitya Akademi Award in 1955 - for his novel, Amrutara Santana - was a prolific Odia writer of the mid-twentieth century.
I read the translation by Arun Kumar Mohanty. This is a beautiful novella about life in a tribal village in Orissa. This is a story about love, caste and faith. The description of each character and the surroundings of the village are very rich. I found this book in the Champaca Bookstore and library (https://www.champaca.in/). I am really happy that they have lots of translation and Tejaswi helped with find this one.
