Cabbage Holiday

Rate this book
A 1948 Bantam romance! The cover art features a soldier in uniform kissing a woman, with another woman in the foreground watching from afar. The back cover seems to sum it up pretty well:

"Recipe for a Cabbage Holiday
Guaranteed to stimulate the jaded appetite, awaken the salivary senses, and gratify the gourmet.

-Mix a Madame and a Misus.
-Add two tempestuous twenty-year-olds
-Stir up an English Lady with a French fille.
-Toss in a virile Vicar full of beautiful bromides.
-Simmer slowly to keep all affairs at the boiling point.
-Spice with spinster gossip and season with heady hothouse flowers.
-SERVE HOT."

The leading lady is named Madame Fifine Faquet, so, like, obviously shes a drag queen. This is never said but back in the day they couldn't come out and say this shit...like how the song Yummy, Yummy, Yummy, I got love in my tummy is about oral sex.
