Tanaji Malusare was only a boy when he took an oath to support his friend, Shvaji, in fighting the Mughals. Along with their small band of faithful followers they became a thorn in the side of the Emperor Aurangazeb as they conquered fort after fort. Tanaji's prowess was tested when he was entrusted with the near impossible task of capturing Kondana Fort. The present story is based on Shivasmruti by G.S. Sardesai and Shivaji the Maratha - His Life and Times by Sir H.G. Rawlinson.

Tanaji represented the traits that make a leader effective; his focus on details help to avert situations when events could have taken a turn from which there would be no recovery. Reading about leaders in life and death situations is always fascinating; so much depends on choices made at a critical point when others were in doubt.

Unsung Hero of Bharat

Tanaji's fierce loyalty to his childhood friend Shivaji and his sense of duty towards his motherland and his king over his own family's key event of his sons marriage is brought out brilliantly in this book. I would suggest every family gift this comic to their growing children to evoke the sense of Nationalism and courage to face most aggressive enemies of the State!
