Enjoyed Sheila and Zeke's story. Suspect Brenda Jackson has found a new family to write about--the Travers family--what with Zeke's five brothers and one sister. I think what I enjoyed most about this romance was that it didn't make me think at all about the Madaris/Steele/Westmoreland books. This too was Black romance, and it came with Jackson's trademark "hot and sexy", but there was a tenderness to the story that made it unique. Very nice.
Loved the story of Sheila Winters a nurse taking care of an abandoned 5 month old and how attached she gets to her. Also the love that develops between her and Zeke Travers the private investigator hired to find out who abandoned the 5 month old.
Also loved the feelings which developed between Kim and Duan and how they worked together to stop her mother from marrying a person who had got rid of two of his wives
To worthwhile stories. One where the fear of rejection and the love of a child brings two together. The other where abandonment of a parent and empathy drives them closer together.
I have always love Mrs. Jackson's books due to her depictions of strong, intelligent, generous, loving and heart warming men of color. These books did not disappoint.
