I loved the way the history was told - not sure if it's accurate by contemporary research. Beautifully illustrated.

Very short, but gives a well-organized overview of the Mexica Empire's politics and society. Summarizes the reign of each emperor, then talks about the religion and class structure, and finally gets back to political history with a chapter about the Conquest.
