A very general look at depression in children and young teens. Geared toward the parent who thinks their child might be depressed (and who does not mind the rather overwhelming focus on how parenting could be the cause). Does not go into detail about how depression symptoms, especially in young children, can differ significantly (irritability, anger) from the "typical" symptoms.

While it may be a useful overview, it is not particularly helpful for parents who have received a diagnosis of depression or who have questions that go even a touch below the most basic level.

I found this book trite. There is precious little in it that isn't common sense, or commonly known.

Might be useful as a first book to look at if a parent is concerned about a child. I didn't find incorrect information and I think it could be helpful to a parent in need.
