The goddess Eriu waited. The new Ard-Ri, high king of all Ireland, had been chosen, elected by his people to enter the Mound of Kings and to induce her to accept him as a wife would a husband. He would be difficult to resist if she were judging on strength and beauty alone; Parlan was as potent a mortal as any she had seen. But to be Ard-Ri required wisdom. As the sea was tied to the moon, so was this land tied to its king. Was it wise for Parlan to believe he might win the hand of a goddess? Such pride brought tragedy.. No, Parlan could not succeed. When Eriu considered Parlan she trembled, for here was finally a man who might be worthy. If only he passed the tests to come.
My writing career began in 1984 when I sold the first of over 100 non-fiction articles written for the national and regional horse magazines. A few years later, a friend and I decided to try our hand at novels. We wrote three and sold the third one, APRIL'S CHRISTMAS, to Avalon Books in 1994. My own first novel was LADY OF FIRE, a time-travel romance published by Leisure Books in 1996. I've always had a great interest in Ireland, history, horses and fantasy, and truly enjoy combining all these things in my novels. I am now working on SEVEN CASTLES IN IRELAND. "
"Should I marry a mortal man, the Otherworld would no longer be my home..." Janeen O'Kerry spins a wondrous tale of kings and goddesses, love and loss, dragons and a magical Celtic myrthology that kept me turning pages until the end. A terrific blend of fantasy and romance. I received a free copy for review purposes and enjoyed the book. Looking forward to reading more of her novels.
I totally dug this book. Loved every second of it...right up to the last three pages, when I went "Wait...WHAT?? What just happened here?? Surely you jest!!" But no..no jesting. Just a bad ending to an otherwise very good book. *sigh*
