Fire the Editor: I gave this book a three because of all the errors in it. There were grammatical errors, missing words, and misspelled words. The errors were pretty bad in all of the Dark Lords and Dangerous Ladies series, but this one was the worst out of the five books. This was my favorite of the five books. Ms. Rice has a beautiful romance that I would have rated a four or five without the errors.

Young Lady Aubree Berford complies with her father's dying wish and chooses a husband. But her choice is unacceptable, and when she engages the disreputable third Earl of Heathmont to help her arrange an elopement, little does she count on her growing passion for this unlikely knight-errant.
The names of three of the main characters all start with "A." It a typical virgin-and-the-ruined-duke story, but not well done. Pass on this.

I gave this 5 stars more for sentiment. It was one of the first romances that I ever read. The first being The Maide of Lorne by Terri Brisbin. I lived on an island in WA state at the time with limited book sources (and book buying funds) and so had to reread books quite a bit. Anyway, I remember this book as being one of the ones that got me hooked on romances.

Sorry. Although there is a lot to like here, I can't abide characters who will not be honest with each other.
