A must read for anybody who is yet to get acquainted with Tagore's Work. A Collection of essays by eminent personalities who got the privilege to know the poet through close quarters or are thoroughly researched in the domain and have analysed the poet's work. It gives the reader an insight into not only the literary works of the Poet but also his art, his interests, passion for his country and different art forms, his personality and the spirit in him that made him what he was. The book, as said at the beginning, is sure to drag into the reader an urge to know more about the Poet and his work. A comprehensive detailed essay compilation on the Poet and his Life in totality. The Best chapters as per me are the one on the Poet and his experience with Death and the other on the Poet and his equation with other eminent personalities such as Gandhi. I did find the chapter on his drawings a little monotonous and too detailed to be able to hold my attention for long. Infact, post the book I was so insired that I even sat down to sketch the Poet himself as printed on the first page of the Book. A fantastic read especially for the ones who are reading such a detailed compilation on the Poet for the first time.
