A method & pattern book for creating modern graphic quilts where the colors appear to look overlapped, thus blending together visually where they meet. The authors call this transparency quilting. The first part of the book discusses their method for selecting colors / patterns in creating the transpareny look and the second (majority) consists of quilt patterns with instructions for piecing, construction and quilting. Recommended for intermediate quilters looking for ideas & patterns.

The authors use Quilters Dream 100% cotton "Supreme", the densest loft for quilts used to help with acoustic problems. They also recommend Quilters Dream Wool for a warm quilt. I also found the pictures of using a binding maker helpful because they show making a point on the fabric to start feeding it through the tool. That was a new idea to me.

Very stylish quilts, love the graphic modern patterns, each pattern has three sizes: wall, lap and bed. The quilting on top of the quilts is also gorgeous. This was a library book that I would purchase.

This just wasn't for me. I realized that I would overthink all my fabric choices and it would take me decades to finish a project.
However, upon returning it to the library, a friend snatched it up and is already working on one of the patterns.

A few are a little interesting.

Pg. 22 reminds me of modern pole lamps

Pg. 42 another take on circles.

I really liked the concept of creating "transparent" quilt designs. This is definitely for the intermediate quilter so it may be awhile before I try one, but I liked:
