'Til Death

Rate this book
A genetically engineered bacteriophage mutates into a worldwide zombie plague, infecting people by the billions. Amid the chaos, weary survivors struggle to find a place of refuge, battling not just the revivified dead but their own demented fellow survivors. Meanwhile, stalking the inheritors of this blighted world is another mysterious group of creatures. Are they forces for good, as their angelic appearances seem to suggest, or just another predator, one that is far more insidious? Rodd Reduxxx is back with a new stand-alone novel, featuring ample doses of twisted humor, funny and unforgettable characters, and extreme horror. With 99% of the population turned into brain-eating zombies, the last warm-blooded human beings have suddenly become the most valuable food commodity on the planet. ********************************************************************** FROM A REVIEW AT LIVING DEAD MEDIA: ""Mort" was an unexpected surprise... the description doesn't do it justice... a real delight... I loved the indivduality of each of the characters and how they played off each other...will keep the reader's attention throughout the length of the novel...Would I recommend "Mort"? My answer would be, yes, because of its unusual characters and unique blend of ghastly humor." Reviewed by Tauseret www.livingdeadmedia.com

About the author

Joseph Duncan

41 books132 followers
Born in Southern Illinois, Joseph was raised in a very liberal home environment and was exposed at an early age to the classic underground comic book scene of the sixties and seventies, as well as European graphic novels by artists like Moebius, Enki Bilal and Milo Manara. At age 9, he was reading Tolkien and Stephen King. He wrote his first novella at age 10. If you want to read the same old formulaic pop lit, don't bother with Joseph's fiction. The novels of Joseph Duncan are challenging, subversive and fantastical, merging genres and pushing the boundaries of propriety and good taste. If you have an aversion to dark subject matter, gratuitous sex and extreme violence, stay far away from Joseph's books. Far. Far. Away!

Yet another good one!

I didn't put this down at all and read it in one sitting! It would be five stars, but there were quite a few different grammatical errors that distract you from the story.
This book broke my heart. I can't wait to start the next book in this series. I'm hoping the next one will have more Archons, like Mort did. I want to know more about what happens to them in the zombie apocalypse.

Slight spoiler ahead

I don’t type out reviews often but this novella was better than I’d thought. Some typos here and there but still well worth the read. Heartbreakingly sad and poignant.

Great story, but unfortunately a short story. Didn't notice when I bought the e-book, idiot, but obviously found out pretty quickly. Not a fan of short stories at all, they frustrate me by being over so quickly. This short story I read quite some time ago, and can remember well, so indicates to me how much I enjoyed it.It is a Zombie apocalyptic tale, and involves a newly wedded couple hiding in a cellar from bandits and zombies. The story broaches a subject that I've never read in any other zombie book I've read, and it is what makes it even sadder and horrific then normal. If only it had been a full length story. I like all of the books I've read of Joseph Duncan, he has a way of keeping the excitement and shocks relentless and a clever way of thinking outside the box. In conclusion, loved the story, hated it's length! My fault for not checking the amount of pages, but glad I did read it even though I was gagging for more at the end.
