A serial killer obsessed with immortality. Victims being targeted by a mysterious M.O. An ex-con FBI agent determined to break all the rules….
Superstar FBI Agent Morgan Cross was at the height of her career when she was framed, wrongly imprisoned, and sent to do 10 hard years in prison. Finally exonerated and set free, Morgan emerges from jail as a changed person—hardened, ruthless, closed off to the world, and unsure how to start again. When the FBI comes knocking, desperately needing Morgan to return and hunt down a killer who seems to be obsessed with aging, Morgan is torn.
Morgan is not the same person, no longer willing to play by the rules, and will stop at nothing this time. In a non-stop thriller, it will be a deadly cat and mouse chase between a diabolical killer and an ex-con FBI agent who has nothing left to lose—with a new victim’s fate riding on it all.

The story line is fine, but it seems like the proofreaders decided to take a break. These aren’t a big deal, but they are bothersome.
In the first novels in the series, Derick Greene has “ flaming blue eyes”. However, he now has somehow acquired green eyes ( to match his name, perhaps). All through this book his eyes remain green, in spite of their previous blue colour. It wouldn’t be so bad, but the eye colour is mentioned repeatedly. I wonder what colour they will be in Book 5!
In one of the chapters here, we are told that the victim’s daughter discovered the body. However, when they are at the scene of the crime Morgan and Derick are told that the housekeeper found the body when she came to the house that morning. A while later, the daughter appears on the scene. This should have been another easy catch.
A bit later, we are told about a plastic surgeon’s patient receiving “silicon injections”. These should really be “silicone injections”. Fortunately for the patients, this error is corrected later.
A nightmare vision greets the victim of a deadly, Silence of the Lambs-like psychopath, who's remodelling his appearance at the cost of lovely womens' lives.
FBI Special Agent Morgan Cross doesn't know whether to trust her partner Derik...when will he be able to answer her questions? Meanwhile she's brought in by Mueller to lead on the shocking case, after the first victim's teen daughter finds her Mom's mutilated corpse. As the bodycount rises, will Morgan continue to take risks with her own safety? Can she catch the twisted maniac before another woman dies?
Blake Pierce's riveting murder-mystery-thriller will grip you firmly by the imagination throughout and For Wrath is guaranteed to satisfy those who like a frisson of terror in their reading. Grab your copy today, but please don't have nightmares!
I am utterly disappointed in the author for agreeing to use a synthesized voice to narrate the book. Moreover, I am not sure if what was narrated was an unedited version, but randomly, "Theresa, the synthesized voice" would say "asterisk, asterisk, asterisk". The tone was also all over the place. When the author wrote softly spoken, Theresa would yell. Morgan sounded like a whiny woman.
I hope that an actual narrator will be considered for future books in the series. It pained me to finish this audiobook, but I really do enjoy the series, so figurately held my nose while I painfully finished this audiobook.
Once again I enjoyed this book. However, I am disappointed in the lack of attention to detail.. like one of the main characters eyes suddenly going from blue to green... and a house is now an apartment. It just (for me personally) throws me off. That said.. this was another good story that kept me engaged and eager to reach the conclusion. I enjoy the cliff hanger endings. My heart is invested in the up and down roller coaster budding romance that may or may not ever be realized. I'm rooting for the characters to find a way to make it work. I am starting book five (the final book in this particular series) now.
I’m sticking with the series because I want to know why she went to prison, who was behind it. BUT I do not like the use of AI asterisk asterisk asterisk narrator
There are amazing audio book narrators (like the one who did the first three in this series). This author who maybe using AI to write her current books might end up on my no go list.
This book is full of suspense, excitement, and frustration for Agent Cross to finally find the answers to the questions she has waited for 10 long years. Hopefully she will find her answers in the next book.
I like this series…I also like to listen to audio. However, this narrator is not good. I’m sorry, I’m sure being a narrator is not easy, but I had a hard time finishing. Next book in series I see same narrator. Sorry
Good story but the author uses “Cacophony” too often. As if it is the word of the day. I am enjoying this series as an audiobook while I walk. Not too complicated but likable characters. I agree with other reviewers, the AI is atrocious- asterisk asterisk asterisk….
Having read and enjoyed most of Blake Pierce books, this one fell short of my expectations. The story line felt contrived. It could and should have been told in half the words I will avoid reading another book written by Mr Pierce
Lots of mistakes in this one but the plot was great.
Does Morgan live in a house or n apartment? At the stakeout is Morgan behind the wheel or Derrick? At the end are they sitting in her car talking or standing somewhere?
I started reading these books during the summer and now I’m hooked. Morgan across got me out here ignoring my children trying to see what she will do next. Lol
