The Tibetan divination system called "Mo" has been relied upon for centuries to give insight into the future turns of events, undertakings, and relationships. It is a clear and simple method involving two rolls of a die to reveal one of the thirty-six possible outcomes described in the text. This Mo, which obtains its power from Manjushri, was developed by the great master Jamgön Mipham from sacred texts expounded by the Buddha.
Ju Mipham Rinpoche (Tibetan ཇུ་མི་ཕམ་, Wylie 'ju mi pham) or Jamgön Mipham Gyatso (འཇམ་མགོན་མི་ཕམ་རྒྱ་མཚོ་, 'jam mgon mi pham rgya mtsho) was a great Nyingma master and writer of the 19th century, student of Jamgön Kongtrul, Jamyang Khyentsé Wangpo and Patrul Rinpoche.
Like all Tibetan authors, Mipham Rinpoche uses several names in the colophons to his works, which may then be rendered into English in several ways, including:
I think with this divination manual, anyone can do mo at home in ones altar. However, we would need to have deep faith for an effective mo.
Although the book contains divination system manual which is easy to understand, it does not delve deep into history and logic behind the combination of numbers.
Another invaluable divination resource. I just ordered a beautiful set of obsidian mo dice, and I can't wait to use them. I will certainly be using them alongside all my tarot readings from now on, and also for divination about personal matters. The guide is very thorough and the translation seems very accurate--Jamgon Mipham was a famous polymath from Tibet, and was a student of Patrul Rinpoche. I have no doubt that his interpretation of the various dice combinations are reliable.
