Studeren is nooit Bradlee Granville’s sterkste kant geweest.

I love this series so much and I am so thankful that I have been able to read all of these books because even though Ms. Dudley is a newer author, she is phenomenal. The way that she writes and presents her story makes you feel like you are in story experiencing everything right next to the characters.
Speaking of characters, this book was filled with so many lovable ones. I really loved Hannah and her personality. Her faith and steadfastness were perfect for this book, I honestly don't know how she survived that things that she did. Colin and Bradlee were hoots, I loved their banter and humor throughout this book. They made me laugh aloud quite a few times. Bradlee honestly was the perfect male lead for this book and even though I could've hit him over the head for his stupidity at times, he was just amazing and perfect for Hannah. I loved them together so much!!
The plot was interesting and I really enjoyed the unique twists that were thoughtout this whole book. I kinda expected one of the twists, but there were still plenty that I found very intriguing. I honestly had a hard time putting down this book and I read it in maybe 3-3/2 hours just because it was so good. If you haven't already, I highly recommend this series, though this book did have one or two content warnings for more sensitive readers, it still was very good and so well written.
*FTC: I received this book though Celebrate Lit from the author in exchange for my honest opinion. All thoughts are my own. I was not required to write a positive review.*
The Sugar Baron’s Ring is a nice addition to the Leeward Island series. Each book in the series definitely stands alone and can be read and understood even if you haven’t read the other books.
I felt so badly for Hannah, who was trapped in an impossible situation and desperately trying to find her way out. I loved the interactions that she had with Bradlee and Colin and I hoped that Bradlee would figure out that he and Hannah were the right match for each other. There was good chemistry between them, yet the fear of failing his father held Bradlee captive to his station in life.
This has been a very enjoyable series of books to read and I am happy to know that there is another novel on the way.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
“If you were looking for adventure, you certainly found one.”
I am loving The Leeward Islands series so very much – definitely some of my fave reads this year! The Sugar Baron’s Daughter is another fabulous installment, with a delightful mix of witty banter and tender moments.
Hannah barrels straight into your heart right from the beginning, her strength & resiliency immediately demonstrated in her daring rescue of the shipwrecked sailors & passengers from shark-infested waters. She has a warm heart toward God and other people, even extending undeserved compassion to her desperate drunkard of a guardian whose sins have begun to catch up with him. If anyone has a right to be bitter about her circumstances, it is Hannah. Yet she chooses to trust God in spite of everything she has endured and all the obstacles she continues to encounter. The fact that she is still innocently naive in some ways but wise beyond her years in others gives her further dimension and makes her a heroine you won’t soon forget.
I can’t really talk about Bradlee without also talking about Colin. Their dry banter kept me chuckling throughout most of the book, but their solid friendship touched me just as much. Both men are of strong character and kind hearts, and while at first they seem to be quite similar in personality they are in fact quite different once you get to know them more deeply. Bradlee’s struggle to fit into the mold expected of him is one that many can relate to, as is Hannah’s fight to rise above the classifications others have given her. Both characters want a place to belong and a calling to embrace, and their journey to find both is one that definitely spoke to my heart. This discussion in particular is one that I needed to hear:
“If it’s God’s will, then why have so many doors shut?”
“God’s not done yet.”
Bottom Line: The Sugar Baron’s Daughter is another fantastic read by Lorri Dudley. This author excels like few others at setting a scene and immersing readers into the lush island environment, and she proves it again with this third book. (Don’t worry though if you haven’t read the first two. Though you definitely should go back and read them for your own pleasure, they are only loosely connected and read well as standalones.) Delightful and layered characters will have you swooning, laughing, holding your breath, and even choking back a few tears as you join them on this journey to belong. Above it all, the gentle reminder that we are all dearly loved children of God, no matter that our circumstances or earthly guardians may tell us differently, and He is always at work to equip us for the calling He has laid on our hearts. Don’t miss this one!
(I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book)
Had I not taken a chance on the previous book in this series, I would have missed out on two worthy Christian historical fiction novels, because “The Sugar Baron’s Ring” is just as well-written and entertaining, if not more so. Ordinarily, this type of novel would not appeal to me simply because I do not particularly like the beach or islands in general, and this is also not my favorite time period. However, I have to give author Lorri Dudley credit for writing an intriguing series that mostly features elements I do not care for and making me love the stories anyway!
One aspect of “The Sugar Baron’s Ring”, and Dudley’s writing in general, that stands out is the list of characters. What impresses me as a mark of successful historical fiction is having relatable characters who are timeless in the sense that readers can connect with them regardless of how long ago they lived. This novel accomplishes that. The endearing banter between Bradlee Granville and his travel companion Colin Fitzroy is delightful and laughter-inducing. It becomes more poignant when contrasted with the isolated Hannah Barrington, whose guardian restricts her social life and loses himself in intoxication. Hannah has felt, and has been made to feel, like an oddity since coming to the island at a young age. She does not belong anywhere, it seems, because she is a sugar baron’s daughter but considered a white beggar due to her guardian’s financial mismanagement. Especially considering the situations happening in America and around the world today with people of different skin color, racial identity, etc., books like “The Sugar Baron’s Ring” serve as a wake-up call that everyone is free to accept Jesus’s free gift of salvation, regardless of how old you are or where you live or what you’ve done.
Similarly, the theme of a homeland features prominently in this novel. From Bradlee who is, in a sense, running away from his homeland of England due to his insecurities, to Hannah, who feels a calling to find her relatives and to fulfill her sense of belonging. Interestingly, they both rescue each other in a different sense, and the overall imagery is comparable to how Jesus has already rescued us from our sins and how He will one day rescue us for eternity if we remain faithful to Him. As Hannah remarks, “Lots of children were orphaned. It didn’t make her anything special. It had taught her at a young age to lean on God.” The message resonates clearly throughout this novel: Trust Him, and remember Whose child you are!
I received a complimentary copy of this book through Celebrate Lit and was not required to post a favorable review. All opinions are my own.
I have been meaning to read one of Lorri Dudley’s books for awhile, and I finally got the chance. Now I know what everyone is talking about when they say she is a fantastic writer! And now I know that I must go back to the first two books in this series and read them! Not because I was lot in this story, but because it was that good.
Dudley quickly gained my favor by writing Hannah’s character. I didn’t take long for me to just admire and love her character. She is strong in her own, beautiful way, and I was just amazed at all the things her character had gone through! But she never once let it get the best of her – something we can all learn from.
But what touched my heart most in this story was the faith theme. It was so evident, but not in a pushy way at all. It was natural, and in my opinion, perfectly woven in between the pages. It reminded me how much I need to rely on God, and go to Him in prayer when things are happening in my life. I love it when books point to our own relationship with the Lord. They give me goosebumps!
All in all, I am so glad I decided to finally pick up a book by the talented Lorri Dudley. Now I’m wondering why I hadn’t done it sooner. Highly recommend reading this! I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Lorri Dudley gifts readers with another enchanting and engaging story that takes us to the Leeward Islands and into England. In The Sugar Baron’s Ring, Dudley once again proves she’s an author not to miss in the Regency romance genre.
If anyone might become embittered by their circumstances, it’s Hannah. But she’s doesn’t let her circumstances and disappointments crush her. Hannah is courageous and strong while, at the same time, vulnerable and naïve. And you just can’t help but like her for it.
Is it anyone Bradlee admires her? And that admiration grows as they spend time together. These two make each other stronger when they’re together.
In addition to the multi-dimensional characters, Dudley adds some intrigue and adventure to her stories that make them hard to put down. While The Sugar Baron’s Ring is my favorite of the series, each of the books is wonderful in it’s own right (and, even better, they each stand alone since the connection between them is the setting).
Disclosure statement: I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.
Plenty of others on here have left great reviews of this book. And I, too, have enjoyed all of these first three in this series myself.
I wish there were, however, a separate place to leave a review of the audiobook reader. Since there is not, I shall leave my notes here. The reader for this series is extremely hard to follow. She makes absolutely no differentiation between characters, so following which character is talking is a constant challenge. Her voice also gives almost no inflection, no change in speed, energy, or excitement. And finally, it sounds like she does not pay attention to what she is reading, nor did she make an effort to correct errors in her reading. Words like "tear" and "lead" which have two pronunciations should be pronounced correctly by someone who is following what they read, but she read them and others incorrectly.
Exceptionally brave Hannah and explorer Bradlee Hannah's sweet and calm disposition charmed me all the way through this book. A woman who did not shy away from a challenge. I admired how she was able to hold her head high up despite what she was going to. I loved how she found herself, her identity in God and his purpose for her life. Her fierce spirit was what save Brandlee and a whole bunch of others after their shipwrecked. I admired how he stood up for her and protected her even going out of his way to sacrifice for her wellbeing.
Beautiful story of love, sacrifice, faith, realising ones identity in Christ and family.
I recieved a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
Another wonderful, superb tale of the Leeward Islands! It's definitely a standalone book as these stories don't build on each other but I would definitely recommend reading all of them. They are amazing! In this story, Hannah just astounded me at her ability to continue to get up every time she was knocked down. Talk about resilient! I can't tell you how many times in this book she either has bad luck or forces beyond her control cause her to lose everything but she never gives up! I learned a lot from her! People in the book did too! She was a wonderful example of faith and love and kindness. I can't give examples or there would be spoilers but take it from me, she's a fantastic characters! From the opening scene when she saves the shipwrecked sailors from shark-infested waters, until the last page, she is amazing! In that opening scene, she meets (and saves) Bradlee. He's going on a Grand Tour from England as a way of using it to graduate college. Since he loses all his money, he can't return to England just yet so it stuck on the island and gets to know Hannah. The two of them change each other in so many ways! I just loved this book and wished it would have gone on and on. I highly recommend it!
This is a well written book that hooks you on the first page. This is the first book I've read by this author and I loved it! She brought the book to life with her words and it was an absolute joy to read. If you like historical christian fiction, you will love this book. I received an ARC copy of this book and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Travelers Wife 4 Life Anyone else just love a good traveling adventurous story? I do. Lorri Dudley’s Leeward Island series take me to a place full of adventure. All the books can be read as standalone books. You do run into familiar characters at various points in the books, but they are just passing mentions and do not leave you feeling like you are missing something; I always look forward to seeing how the former characters are doing now
This has been such a wonderful story that I am sad it is over. The author has demonstrated her ability to make a story flow with ease. Each step that Hannah took, I felt I was beside her. I could hear her cries as she so desperately wanted someone to claim her as family. The heartache she goes through with her uncle is unbearable to read at times. How could a person treat another as despicably as he does to Hannah? Many times Hannah would tell her uncle he needs Jesus, but he scoffed at her. Hannah is a breath of fresh air in the story. There are times she doubts Jesus hears her, but I loved seeing how she always found her way back to him. Bradlee and Colin make the story come to life as they are rescued by Hannah. I found it funny that Hannah was able to bring them to safety while Bradlee and Colin were somewhat surprised at her actions. Bradlee has a royal title but he is more interested in following his dreams. His parents were not my favorite at first especially his father. His father has high hopes for Bradlee to become a professor even though it is the last thing Bradlee desires. There are always reasons things happen and this story proves that point over and over again. It was no accident that Hannah was there to rescue two men she didn’t know. It was no accident that her friendship with Bradlee and Colin would prove to be valuable. Throughout the story we see God in the midst of everything going on. I loved how these three people had the same idea to go to England. Perhaps Hannah would finally find her family. What surprise will await her there? Can Bradlee convince his father that he must follow God’s direction to be happy? We mustn’t forget Colin who is a good friend to Bradlee. Will he find happiness in England? I anxiously await the next book in this epic series. Where will the author take us next? What characters will we meet as the journey continues with trust and faith? I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.
What another adventurous edition to the Leeward Islands series. I have been enjoying going to the Islands with this author's characters and her descriptions of the time and atmosphere of the island life has truly transported me to that different era.
This story is about Hannah Barrington who is essentially an orphan being raised by her so called uncle. Her father was a wealthy sugar baron but after her parents' deaths she was left in the care of her uncle who has squandered most of her inheritance. Her only recourse is to save enough money to try to get back to England and find her long lost relatives.
One fateful night she meets the hero of the story, Bradlee Granville, who is on a grand tour trying to graduate from university and still make his father proud. As a second son he has quite a lot to live up to when it comes to his father's expectations.
Hannah and Bradlee develop a close bond and become quite good friends, at first. Then the embers of love begin. But Bradlee is not free to marry Hannah and each try to prove their love by rescuing one another from the various trials they come against.
What I really enjoy about this series is that each book is very unpredictable and takes us on adventures, dangers, places, and mysteries become known and all is done with the backdrop of the islands or England. As a reader I do really become immersed in the telling of the tale.
I received a copy of this novel from the publisher. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.
Romance - Clean Language - Clean Violence - Mild Series - Book 3 (Easily read as a standalone) Christian Themes
These books are definitely not your typical Regency Romances that take place in London during the Season, or country estate. They have been a refreshing change from all of that.
In this book we are back on Nevis, which book 1 is also set in. However, this takes place several years later than The Duke's Refuge. Characters from the previous books are mentioned, or alluded to, but you really don't have to read the others to fully enjoy this one. There is not much interaction with previous main characters, if any at all.
Ah Bradlee, the adventurous second son who has no interest in becoming what his father expects him to. The thought of being a professor at Oxford is not at all to his liking, but he sees no other option. He is delaying it as long as possible, but that is also coming to an end.
Hannah, sweet and kind Hannah who doesn't fit in really anywhere. She is somewhere between classes, yet in reality, she is just a poor orphan.
One of the things I absolutely loved about this book was the witty banter between Bradlee and his friend Colin. I actually think that was a huge highlight for me.
The relationship between Bradlee and Hannah is sweet and develops naturally over time. Not a love-at-first-sight trope. There are many challenges along the way, some unexpected and some you see coming, but ultimately, we do get our HEA.
**This book is a Christian Romance, and the theme is heavily present throughout**
What I think you should know: The Sugar Baron’s Ring is a Historical Christian Romance, it is the third book in the Leeward Islands Series by Lorri Dudley. This book can be read as a standalone, however the previous books in the series were great, so I would not skip them.
What you might want to know: The is set when slavery was still an accepted practice on the sugar plantations of Nevis. The story does not focus on it but it does touch on it.
What I think about this book: I love this series more with every book. Nevis is a fascinating island with a rich history. It creates a perfect backdrop for adventurous stories. Dudley captures your attention in the opening pages and keeps you captivated by Hannah as she shows strength and intelligence. She was willing to risk her own life to help others and was determined to find a way to England in hopes that her guardian was not her only family left. Bradlee and Colin were so much fun with their interaction and added a subtle comedy to the story. The story was not without conflict and heartaches, but I enjoyed every page! Dudley did a wonderful job of writing a story that shows that faith and trust in God is not always easy, but that God loves you and has a bigger plan for you. I look forward to the next book in the series.
I I received a complimentary copy of this book from Celebrate Lit, this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.
The Sugar Baron’s Daughter is my kind of feel-good romantic novel. this book reminds me of Francine River’s Redeeming Love in so many ways. Hannah Barrington has been dealt unfortunate hand. Feeling abandoned, unwanted, and being raised by an alcoholic, you cannot help but feel bad for Hannah and her situation. In an act of bravery Hannah rescues many seamen from a shipwreck including Bradlee Grandville and Colin Fitzroy. Bradlee and Colin gradually begin to fall for Hannah because she has so many amazing qualities but she does not see her own worth. She still sees herself as a burden. In an attempt to free them from a future with her, she tries to make her own way and income. That too ends in disaster at no fault of her own, and she hits a new low. God redeems the situation and uses Hannah to help others while showing her that she is worth rescuing. The book of Hosea and an unrelenting love are echoed throughout this book. I love the way that this book ends, wrapping everything up in a pretty bow and leaving me in the best mood. The Sugar Baron’s Daughter took me on a riveting journey from the shark infested waters of Nevis, to the aristocrats of England, and the streets of London while laced with humor, friendship, bravery, self-worth, and an unconditional love worth fighting for.
An excellent third installment in the Leeward Island series. With the ability to read each book as a standalone without becoming confused, this series is one I know I can pick up at any time and enjoy a richly detailed setting.
Lorri Dudley’s characters are never one-dimensional or boring, as Hannah and Bradlee prove over and again. Hannah is probably my favorite heroine of the series. Her spunk and determination are bar none. The past history she has to overcome and her sheer diligence and love for her fellow man made me wish she could walk off the page and show us all how it’s done.
Never short on adventure. Hannah takes you from the wilds of the Leeward Islands to the slums of England with the same grace and poise of a lady even though she’d rather be barefoot on a beach than wrapped in a corset.
For me, The Sugar Baron’s Ring was a tale of finding yourself, but above all, remembering that you are a precious child of God. Hannah’s tale is not a happy one, but she never lets go of her ability to soldier on.
Beautifully written and wild with romantic adventure, I recommend this book for anyone who’s a fan of Jen Turano and other historical authors who love to write spunky heroines and the heroes who love them.
I requested a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. I was not required to leave a positive review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
I love a good story. This is a good story. I’ve enjoyed reading the entire series but I think this might be my favorite one yet. Hannah is such an engaging and sweet character. And then we have her “uncle” or guardian who is definitely the polar opposite of Hannah. So much deceit and deception going on in this household.
And then enter our hero! Bradlee is an aristocrat off on his grand tour enjoying life but he has this deadline looming in his brain because he has to pass his finals to continue on the life course that has been set for him. A life course that he isn’t too thrilled at by the way. Oh and let’s not forget the woman he’s supposed to marry. The woman he doesn’t love.
As Bradlee and Hannah begin an unlikely friendship it’s fun to watch their admiration grow. Bradlee is desperate to get Hannah out of her guardians grasp before it’s too late, but will he sacrifice his own freedom to get there?
A great read that I highly recommend. You’re going to love this one and the entire series.
I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from Celebrate Lit. All views expressed are only my honest opinion. The Sugar Baron’s Ring is an entertaining novel filled with laughter, heartache, wit, and romance. Hannah and Bradlee are the two main characters, developing feelings for each other, feelings that the two maybe shouldn’t have for one another.
I loved Bradlee. He was sweet and kind and was willing to do anything to save Hannah from her current situation. As soon as he learned about her abusive uncle, he made sure he would find a way to help Hannah receive passage to England.
It took me a few chapters to warm up to Hannah. But I do have to say, she has a lot of strength and hope for someone who has gone through so much. She doesn’t give up on her dream to leave for England. She has a big heart and deserves better than the life she has on the Leeward Islands.
The bickering and banter between Bradlee and his friend, Colin, will leave any reader entertained. The bickering between the two shows their tight bond and deep friendship.
It would honestly be a shame to miss out on the story of Hannah, Bradlee, and Colin and their many adventures. The reader will definitely get attached to these characters and will only want to see a happy ending for all of them.
I had received a copy of this book as part of the Celebrate Lit Blogging Team and was required to give an honest review.
When I began the first book of The Leeward Islands series, Lorri Dudley was an unknown author to me. I immediately became a fan and with each subsequent addition to the series have become even more enthralled with her books. She has definitely earned a permanent place on my must read authors list.
The Sugar Baron’s Ring could possibly be my favorite of the series simply because of the witty dialogue between hero Bradlee and his friend Colin. I loved their sense of humor and the way that Hannah found it difficult to suppress her giggles around them. All three characters were wonderful! Hannah was brave, helpful, caring, and forgiving despite her unfortunate circumstances. Bradlee was an honorable man who also learned to overcome his own weaknesses and become the man God created him to be.
I loved how the entire plot played out and the parallels of a father’s love for his children to the love of God for His own. The Sugar Baron’s Ring is a wonderful story that I highly recommend. I look forward to more books by Lorri Dudley and hope for more about the Leeward Islands.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book provided by Wild Heart Books and Celebrate Lit. A favorable review was not required. All views expressed are my own.
I continued to enjoy getting to know an area of the world I’m not very familiar with in The Sugar Baron’s Ring. In this story we get to know more about the tension of the era in the West Indies as the minority power struggles to maintain control over those deemed beneath them.
While I read book 1 in this series, I missed book, but don’t feel like I missed anything as any needed background Lorri provided. This series can definitely be read stand-alone.
I liked the three main characters instantly: Hannah, Bradlee, and Collin. Bradlee and Collin are men not only of good character, but of laughter and fun. Colline especially brought many smiles to the pages. Hannah has learned how to be resilient, feeling that she’s along, but learning that in the end she had been surrounded by those who cared.
Checking back in the Mr. and Lady Clark and other characters from the series was nice as well, giving us a peak at the after “happily ever after.”
Overall an enjoyable read. I hope you give it a read.
I was provided a copy of this story by the author. A positive review was not required. All opinions are my own.
The Leeward Islands were home to the large sugar plantations and Hannah Rose Barrington was the daughter of a Sugar Baron. Unfortunately death took her parents while she was yet a young child. With no apparent last will and testament, she was at the mercy of the governor who placed her in the care of her Uncle Reuben, a man known less for his work ethic and more for his ability to drink.
Running away from his college exams, Bradlee Miles Granville and his companion Colin Fitzroy are caught in a shipwreck just off the island of Nevis. What follows is a wonderful story of rescue and second chances. Realizing that God has gotten them this far, these well-developed characters finally understand what it means to be a victor and not a victim of those choices made for you by others. What a wonderful lesson of what it means to never give up regardless of your circumstances.
This digital copy was received through Wild Heart Books and CelebrateLit. The impressions and comments are my own and were in no way solicited.
Once I read the opening chapter to this book, I knew that it would be hard for me to put down. The opening chapter has a shipwreck and a brave, beautiful young woman who hurries to the rescue. Hannah’s story is a poignant one. She lost her parents years before and is living with a guardian who is fast losing touch with reality. Her life is becoming increasingly more difficult, and Hannah soon finds that she is in danger. Bradlee and Colin are the perfectly imperfect heroes in this story that take risks to rescue Hannah. Although Bradlee and Hannah find that they are drawn to each other, there seems to be little chance that they can ever marry. Throughout the whole story, Hannah clings to her faith and believes that God will take care of her. This is a book filled with romance, adventure, and faith.
There’s a faith theme to this story of the way God directs our steps and provides needs from unexpected sources. I think you’ll enjoy this story just as much as I did.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
The very beginning of this book caught my attention with an impending shipwreck about to happen to Bradlee. Hannah, living on the island, sees what is happening to the ship and rushes to rescue as many people as she can. I can not imagine what it would be like to know your parents died in a shipwreck years ago, and then see another shipwreck happen before your own eyes.
From the very beginning, Bradlee and Hannah seem to need each other to have a bright future. Hannah has had a hard life, but God and her faith have gotten her through it all. She shows the strength we can receive from God.
Having a guardian squandering her inheritance breaks my heart for Hannah. Truly, she deserves happiness and more.
Bradlee seems to flounder in life as well as in the water when the shipwreck. But when Hannah needs him the most, he steps up and demonstrates courage.
So check out this book for yourself. I definitely recommend it

" The Sugar Baron’s Ring" by Lorri Dudley is the third book in the Leeward Island series. Each one can be read as a standalone but I am glad I have read all three. This one is my favorite.
I loved the faith theme in this book, it reminds readers that we need to rely on God and pray when things are happening, rather misfortune or something great. This is pointed out in the story but not in a pushy or preachy way.
Hannah is a remarkable character, I really don't think I would have survived all that she went through. This book is not what I would call a happy tale but it ends up being one and there is one scene that really made me cry. ( and now that I'm thinking about the scene, tears are forming again.)
I recommend this book to readers who likes to read about characters who have to rise above their struggles and still is able to show love and concern for other characters.
I was given a complimentary copy by the author and Celebrate Lit and these opinions are my own.
I loved, loved, loved this book!!! There was never a dull moment reading through this novel. I loved, loved, loved the characters Hannah, Bradlee and Colin. There were great supporting characters as well. The camaraderie between Bradlee and Colin will leave you in stitches. I wish I had the wit those two have and the courage to express such wit. Hannah is my hero, regardless of what she faces, she leans on the Lord and soldiers her way through whatever is thrown at her. She's kind, compassion, believes the best in people but she does experience sadness, tears, but she keeps a positive attitude. This book is so full of so many things it is impossible to share it all, but you are in for a ride. Shipwrecks, sand, secrets, stories from places traveled. You'll be drawn in and soon feel like your apart of this trio's group. All I can say is READ THE BOOK!!!!
Blessings,
Karen

I requested a copy of this book and all opinions are my own.
The book was quite an adventure! A couple places in the story was a little slow but it quickly picked up and I had to keep reading! I appreciated that it didn’t just end but told a little more of the story.
I enjoyed “meeting” Hannah and following her story. She didn’t have it easy and yet she persevered. Each character was well developed and I could picture them clearly. I liked some of them better then others. The story between Bradlee and Hannah is so sweet. It was fun to watch! The interaction between Bradlee and Colin is hilarious! I liked the banter. The story is set on the Island of Nevis. It sounds beautiful and I wish I could visit.
This is book 3 in a series but can be read as a standalone.
I recommend this story to my family and friends.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher. I also purchased a copy for myself. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
I’ve probably said this before but I am a Lorri Dudley fan. This is the third book in this series and the third book I have read by Lorri. I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every one and I am so excited that there is a fourth coming out.
This book introduces us to Hannah and her sad story. However, Hannah never looses hope and keeps pushing for what she wants. She also sees the best in people which can be to her detriment.
Bradlee wants to help Hannah but he is also tied to the things his family expects and this leaves him torn.
I absolutely loved the end of this book. It was action packed, one event after the next. And I adored how Lorri tied a beautiful Gospel message into Hannah discovering her identity and inheritance. So beautiful.
A copy of this book was given to me through the Celebrate Lit Team. All opinions are my own.
This was a really good book. I loved the characters and the setting. I loved how it grabs you attention from the first chapter because it starts with a ship wreak. I love the romance between Bradlee and Hannah. I loved how even though they were attracted to each other from the beginning, due to Bradlee’s father’s wishes for him, it seemed their love was impossible. I loved how Hannah helped Bradlee to overcome his fears and to become more confident in himself. I also loved how Hannah came to know that God loved her and that she should never forget that she is his daughter. I really loved how Bradlee and Hannah couldn’t be together until Hannah realized her worth. I really like this series and the faith building of these books.
I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors. A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.
