This book was bad. I'm upset that I read it. Characters were bullies and not healthy friendships. Very Hallmark in the stretching of deep conversations to change the hearts of people just in time. Because of this book I went back and added a star to previous one star review.

I was looking for a quick cute book after a disappointing read, and in theory that’s what this was, but sadly it missed the mark for me. The concept is cute—a matchmaker who is hesitant to find love for herself—but I did not have a fun time reading it.

Pros:
-cute concept
-short

Cons:
-unsurprisingly heteronormative
-unconvincing insta-love relationship
-cringey antics
-questionable themes/comments e.g. fatphobia
-main character is immature, judgmental, and extremely annoying
-uses the word “mate” often (feels icky every time)
-very preachy (hadn’t realized it was a faith based book, but they talk about God all the time, both regarding their personal motivations and references to pushing their religion on others)

All the 90’s era cheese with Lorelei Gilmore levels of chaos and a hefty helping of compulsory suspension of disbelief.
Would I seriously recommend this? Probably not. But as a silly casual read, I had a good time.
And it’s also surprisingly Christian? Nothing about the cover led me to anticipate that haha

Lucy Salinger is the owner of Rent-a Yenta matchmaking business. She has made many successful matches in her four years of business though she remains single. Her policy is never to date clients which becomes a problem when she has an attraction to Dr. Campbell Howard, a behavioral psychologist who has an appointment with her at the urging of his sister. Lucy gets downright nutty and can't quite understand why she reacts to him the way she does. Campbell calls her a "nut bar."
There are a lot of very funny situations but also some more serious when Lucy has to come to grips with her past to be able to make a future. I recommend this book to anyone who appreciates romantic comedy, though I caution you may want to read this book in a quiet place by yourself lest others think you are a "nut bar" as you laugh out loud at many of Lucy's wacky antics.

The Salinger Sisters book #2. Lucy Salinger is brilliant at making matches. In fact she's so good that she started her own business helping others find their true love. However she has never been interested in finding a match for herself until now...
Dr. Campbell Howard shows up at her office door looking for a woman to share the rest of his life. The only thing is that he really likes the owner.
Then Lucy sets Campbell up on several disastrous dates. Is she losing her touch, or does she just want him for herself?

This books had me laughing from cover to cover. Very fun read if you need a good laugh!

This book started out really funny. I was even envisioning a movie. Toward the middle it lost steam for me, then it got a little funny again. I gave it a 4 star because it was written well and humorously. It's a light read, and while it's written as Christian fiction, which I didn't know when I bought it, it wasn't over the top. I generally enjoyed the book and got some much needed chuckles.

My favorite of the series!! ...this book is hysterical. Seriously, the best comic approach to Christian Romance that I've ever read. Great stuff...particularly when she's dressed up like a peanut! Hahahaha.
