This picture book goes through the stages and events that were put forth for woman to stand up to be able to have the right to vote. It expounds on the challenges that they faced and overcame to have the ability to vote. Along with This book is written with complete accuracy with the important figures as well as the dates corresponding precisely with history. The illustrator did a wonderful job of formatting the book in a way that would appeal to young readers to engage them in the book. The picture are realistic, but the illustrator also to artist liberty to animate the characters in a way that makes the scenes more interesting to look at. This book allows any student to appreciate the fact that they didn’t have to fight for their right as many American woman had to and did in this time period. It stresses the importance and having the ability to be able to vote, this could inspire young woman to really utilize the ability to vote when they come of age. This book also draws so many young adults to wanting to learn more about topics relating to this book. Along with wanting to develop their knowledge of American history.

This was a wonderful book on some of the more unpleasant sides of Women's Suffrage. It detailed the differences between the more peaceful American protests and the more aggressive British protests. Hunger strikes, burning mail boxes and train stations, parades in the park, and torturous arrests were just some of the stories highlighted.

Women fought and even died for their cause, often times gaining respect through taking on jobs that would only encourage their equality. In some cases, the battle for suffrage took over fifty years and two wars to come through as women stopped through the Civil War in America and The Great War/WWI in both America and Great Britain. The journey was a difficult one, and it's something women even today fight preserve and build upon through the feminist movement.

This story is a must for any blooming feminist, or any girl that has an interest in learning why the public opinion changed of women somewhere in history to take a turn from a home maker with no rights to women working side-by-side with men in most careers, being treated as equals.

In America, women couldn't vote until 1920. This cartoon history gives an overview of the suffragists' protest movements. It wasn't an easy road - some women became violent when their requests were ignored. They set fire to mailboxes and assaulted police officers. Often women went to jail for violent or peaceful protests. Informative cartoon sidebars give many facts about the people involved in the suffrage movement.

This is a great book about the experiences of suffragist women during the 20th century. A suffragist is a woman who fights for the equal rights as men have. This book tells the story of Suffrage in both England and the United States. The women in America finally received the right it vote through the 19th Amendment in 1919 after having numerous protests and things of the sort.

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn about suffrage

A good introduction to women's suffrage; especially for people who know little about how long it took to win voting rights for women.

One of the best books in the series. The story doesn't feel forced into the format which some of the other books suffer from.
