When the latest addition to the Falls State soccer team starts eying Hansen, Sam's frustrated beyond belief -- and sanity. He tries his best to hide it, but there's only so much a guy can do. God help him if Hansen finds out about his jealousy.
A fluffy short story following the events of Equilibrium.
Warnings: 1. Minor spoilers for Equilibrium, particularly in the area of the HEA or not question. But the story stands alone, if you prefer to start with this as a sampler. Go for it! 2. This story contains superpowers, uncomfortable emotions, NC-17 m/m sex practices, and vegan cookies. It is not for children, vegan haters, or witch hunters.
Hi! I'm Katey. I write superpowered and fantasy romance of an LGBTQIA bent. I live at Superpowered Love -- kateyhawthorne.com.
I know, I know, it looks like I don't read anything here at GoodReads. But I do, I swear. My reviews and stuff are all over at my other GoodReads thingie, KV Taylor. Relevant shelves to Katey Hawthorne stuff:
Jealousy is one my favourite themes in books and most authors use them; but don't usually use it the way I hoped. I liked the was Ms. Hawthorne used the theme here, not too invasive and demanding just enough to get the point across.
Sam is possessive of Hansen and doesn't it like it when a new guy starts flirting with his man. Hansen is oblivious but Sam is not and he does not like it at all. The thing I liked was Sam and his inner-musings he has a strong voice (and funny too); but I also LOVED Hansen's reaction to Sam when he figured out Sam was jealous. I think you need to read it to understand what I mean. That was why I rated this book so high, because it was priceless and so true. The characters are great as well and I enjoy reading about them.
Here, Sam gets jealous of this new soccer player named Marco who just beat Sam's record, but that's not what Sam's jealous about. Marco is setting his eyes on Hansen and that just gets Sam acting all alpha male and staking his claim on Hansen which is adorable and sexy.
Well - since I enjoyed Superpowered Love #1, it's hard not to enjoy a quick FREE short story to let us catch up on our boys Hansen and Sam. I love it when authors give us free shorts between stories. It is a HUGE thank you to the readers that I always sincerely appreciate.
In this story, Sam and Hansen are doing well, but Sam's big green monster comes out to play when a cute Freshman has eyes for Hansen.
Cute follow-up to Equilibrium. Hansen doesn't know how adorable he is and Sam is very jealous when a guy starts hitting on him. I liked getting the story from Sam's POV, since Equilibrium was from Hansen's POV. Short, sweet and hot!
A rarity: a short story with a true beginning, middle, and end... an up and down to the relationship/story, and not just a quickie scene. Oh, and lots of heat. That's a bonus. Very hot.
