I Know What You Do When I Go to School by Ann Edwards Cannon

Rate this book
Howie is finally grown up enough to go to school, but all day long, he fantastically imagines all the fun and games that his mom and little brother Wally must be having. A little sibling jealousy? Homesickness? Mom has the perfect remedy -- she tells Howie about all the clean-up work they do while he's at school and then describes Wally's "great big boring, long and fat all-afternoon nap."

This is quite a fun book although some explanation was needed by my daughter. Once she understood the found the whole book hilarious. Then she very seriously asked me what I did actually do when she was at school!!
The book is told by a school-age child who imagines that when he goes to school, his mom and baby brother have all these fantastic adventures including eating all the candy they can, watching ninja movies and going on helicopter rides. The mom agrees with him and tells him that after all that, they have to walk a really long way home and clean the house until it's immaculate and then they are so tired they take a really long boring nap.
Wonderful ways to get a child to school!!!

Didn't get into this book, but would be good for siblings who have to go to school and what they believe might be happening at home with Mom and younger sibling. Pictures were not fun and kids I read it to lost interest.

A boy imagines what his mom and little brother do while he's away at school. I loved the story and the tone—it's just fun. I have minor complaints about the hard-to-read fonts the type is set in, but don't let this scare you away from such an enjoyable book.
