A cute, fun read. I never understood what people meant by a "beach read". This would be one. Light, quick and interesting.

The reason I did not give it more than three stars is the blatant use of Drugs. For some reason gay writers have to have drugs as if all gay people used them, and frankly I am tired of the Cliche.

Far far to long started of funny enough really sagged in the middle then started to pick up and finished with the most horrific syrupy ending bloody awful.

i categorized this as romance, but it isn't really—more gay literature. I liked Schell's writing. He uses lots of detail to create the emotional/social environment of which he speaks. In the end, it's a story of learning to love selflessly and thereby gaining true happiness. The story was a bit sex, drugs and la vida loco for me, but as it was set in the cocaine-prevalent 1980s, I suppose it was realistic. So I'd rate it good for writing and characters and average for plot. I just wish I liked the characters.

I was hoping to read a gay romance book and this was not it, which was very disappointing. The characters are silly and people I wouldn't want to have in my life. It did have some funny parts and it was a fast read, though.

Very light and silly, but cute. Kent gave it to me.
