The Commander sends his men into the Wild hoping to capture some suitable Feral’s in order to save his lineage and ensure the Callahan name lives. The hunt proves successful. Being the ultimate Elite, he has the first pick. He chooses Joy, a mute, defective Feral who has fire within her soul. He will ensure she obeys his every command.
Joy has heard of what took place in Obedire. Her great-grandparents ensured that the future generations knew about the deceit and corruption. So we live in the Wild, we are free. When soldiers and drones attack her home, she finds herself catapulted into a world she wanted no part in. The cruel Commander Callahan never stops tormenting her. He may have destroyed the only home she ever knew, but she will be damned if he thinks he can turn her into a mindless pet for him to play with.

Yay. Another book by LBS. TRIGGERS
This one is a mix of Handmaids Tale and SciFi. I'm not a fan of SciFi stuff because I can never understand what's happening. I don't even like those Matrix movies because I get confused. Anyway, I'll skip of the description of the scifi type stuff because I'd probably get that part wrong.
Focus for me was the smut part. It's noncon and degradation. Elias is an utter wanker and is using Joy as a sex slave/breeder. Of course, he falls for her. This book also introduces us to the other couples that will come in following books.
This one got 5-stars because of my love for the author and the fact that it's taboo and you can't find a lot of books on this subject.

meh…not gonna continue with the series
I didn’t really enjoy the fact that Joy had this implant and was essentially forced to take Elias’s sh*t and then to actually accept it and be content was a little frustrating. Whatever…it might be your thing but not mine. Lol

short dystopian romance extra spicy!
Totally a huge fan of this author. This is my second book by her and it did not disappoint! Short book with good world building given the length. A little bit of insta love/lust but all the good bits from this author who writes the best dominant men!

Seriously?
As if people don't spew enough nonsense about vaccines in general and the Covid vaccine in particular, this comes out. The author takes all the worst conspiracy theories and stuffs them into one novella. I had been looking forward to this book, but now I'm so disgusted I plan on ditching everything by this author.

I kinda wanted a bit more info, which is why I'm giving this a 3.5⭐️ rating. Maybe there will be more in the next books.
I was actually expecting this to be super dark, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. There's certainly noncon in the beginning, but it quickly shifts to dubcon and then consensual. It's dark for sure, and not for everybody. I just expected much darker.

This shorter story is pretty good. It gets right to the story without a bunch of boring parts. It wasn’t meant to have character growth or anything like a longer story would. But it had more plot than I was expecting. I enjoyed it overall.

Interesting hot read
I used the words interesting because I loved the narrative of a fake virus and "vaccine" woven into the story. Considering world history it makes the story all too plausible. As for the rest, hot sex and great characters!! I can't wait to read the next one.
