Lose You to Find Me

Rate this book
After Raine Copelin turns down her long-time boyfriend Caleb Anders’s marriage proposal, the two are barely speaking, barely coping as they enter graduate school at Lindon University. Caleb doesn’t understand what happened—their relationship has been picture-perfect since high school. He always imagined starting a family together, the same happily ever after his parents had. Until the day she broke his heart, he thought Raine wanted that, too.

But Raine has her reasons. Her secrets. She knows she can’t give Caleb the future he wants, so she decides to let him go, no matter the price she has to pay. But when fresh tragedy sends Caleb spiraling back into Raine’s arms, the unanswered questions between them bring old feelings and new wounds to the surface. Fighting grief, lies, and fear, the two must figure out if their love ever truly ended, or if their uncertain futures might still include each other.

🦋 𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐓𝐎 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐃 𝐌𝐄 🦋 Is the third full length romance book within the (Lindon U) series by author B. Celeste. Spoken in Dual POV's. This is a continuation of Caleb & Raines story.

The title is perfectly fitted for this book, to lose him, she had to find herself, their growth apart made them better people for when they came together again. To not shoulder things as a whole but being able to lean on the other or others was their biggest learning curve.

These two weren’t meant to be apart, they were each others foundation,
Perfectly fitted, perfect for each other.
I loved these two, the heartbreak, the mending, this author balanced everything perfectly.

It all kicks off on graduation day at Lindon University when Raine Copelin turns down her boy friend of seven years proposal in front of the entire school and their family. If that wasn't bad enough Caleb Anders thought things were perfect between them, so he's thrown for a sixer when she turns him down, leaves town in a cloud of dust leaving him devastated.

He always shared what his future looked like, white picket fence, children and taking over his families hardware store with her right beside him.

But in her own mind Raine thinks she's doing the right thing, especially for him.

Not are they dealing with the breakup and trying to move on separately but their parents are also going through some tough times.

Grab your favorite beverage, a box of tissues and sit back and let those emotions free..

I enjoyed the first two more. Sadly this didn't do it for me like the first two did. I just wanted to lock these two in a room and make them air out their problems cause the miscommunication was real with these two 🤦‍♀️

I got the arc for this book on net galley , and unfortunately I didn’t like it, which is sad because i’ve been anticipating this book since i read "beg you to trust me”. I didn’t feel chemistry between the fmc and the mmc, and i didn’t care if they were together or not, Raine the fmc was also insufferable and so incredibly dumb. Like I said I enjoyed the other books in this series, so overall this was a very disappointing read.

I cried!! This book pulled at my heartstrings so much. The growth between both characters was hard to read but very relatable and beautiful to see them overcome it.

One mistake changes everything.

Raine and Caleb have been dating for seven years. Over the years, he has been planning their future but it doesn’t align with her dreams.

“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry Caleb.”

From being brainwashed by her family with expectations for her future. When Caleb proposes at their graduation in front of everyone. She turns him down.

“Nobody is a saint, Raine. Not even you.”

Loss, a mistake, heartbreak, and grief. These two characters have both been through a lot and must grow for them to be back together.

This was my first book by this author and I plan to check out more from the series.

Thank you, B. Celeste, Sourcebooks Bloom Books, and Netgalley for this EARC! As always, my review is my opinion and thoughts. This review will be shared on my Instagram @Alexandriavwilliams_ shortly.

ARC REVIEW
3.5-4⭐️
I can’t decide what to rate this. Now to preface this I haven’t read any of her other books this is my first one. I saw angst and it sounded like a lot of pain and I’m like ok where do I sign up 👀? And there was definitely that 😅. Both of Caleb and Raines situations hit very close to home (especially Caleb’s) to the point where I was literally bawling but then again I’m an emotional reader so like do with that what you will. But anyways I’ve been in a MAJOR slump so I think that did affect my reading experience a tad. It was a good book and I did enjoy it I just think if I was more in the mood for this I would’ve enjoyed it more than I did. I will say that the reason for the 3.5 is because they both got on my nerves at times. Ok a lot of the time 😅. I just wanted to stick them in a room alone and not let them out til they cleared the air. In the end they got it all figured out but like it could’ve been solved so much faster. There are deeper topics involved in this book so I’d be aware of those going in if you have triggers. I’ll probably give this another shot after I read the other 2 Lindon U books (which I will cause I love the tropes in those 2 as well).

2.5 ⭐️. the other two books were definitely better than this one and those didn’t really wow me as it is so this one was really just meh. i wished they would actually just sit down and have a conversation instead of just avoiding bc then everything could have been fine but it felt super drawn out and kinda for no reason

Beg You to Trust Me was my first B. Celeste read, and I was hooked. Since then, I’ve been trying to read more of the author’s work – while remaining eager for the next book in the Lindon U series. It should come as no surprise that I gladly read Lose You to Find Me in a single sitting once I got my hands on it.

I will be entirely honest and say that my feelings about Lose You to Find Me are a little mixed. I enjoyed the book – as is likely obvious from the fact I finished it in a single sitting – yet there were some details in the story that did not work for me. First, the book is based almost entirely upon the couple’s inability to communicate. This is a big annoyance for me, which removed some of my enjoyment. Nevertheless, I was invested in seeing how things came together and how things were explained. When the book focused on a topic that is important to me, I loved the focus upon it and the way it put attention on a topic that is so often overlooked. However, I found it impossible to believe our female lead had managed to keep it such a big secret for years. To me, it read like the issues only became observable throughout the duration of this book, yet the way the topic was handled suggested she’d been having the level of health issues for years. That is not something you can hid. Yes, people will overlook many of these things – trust me, I can confirm how much people will do the classic “take a painkiller and you’ll be fine” when it comes to this issue – but those closest to you will notice changes. There are always signs. As an example, people at work will always make comments to me, even if it is a simple “you are not as energetic as usual”. People notice something, however small. I find it impossible to believe that the male lead did not notice anything wrong throughout all their years together. I did not expect him to put the pieces together and understand, but I expected him not to be surprised when he finds her suffering. They were together long enough that he should have noticed the hot water bottle or painkiller times. I have male friends who recognise these things without the need for me to say (even my boss has noticed on occasions), which is why I find it hard to believe our male lead who seemed to be so attentive overlooked the entire thing. Yeah, I know everyone experiences health issues differently, but to me I felt like there should have been something there. As I said, despite this, I did enjoy the story and was happy to see the focus given to this health issue.

All in all, if you have enjoyed the prior books in the Lindon U series, then it is certainly worth giving Lose You to Find Me a read. I am now eager to see what comes next in the series.

this book was so incredibly hard for me to read. not because it wasn’t a good story, it was a great story! but the pain & sorrow that i felt reading this was so so hard. i’ve been looking forward to reading this book for months and it did not disappoint. however, what raine did to caleb was the most selfish thing a person could ever do to someone they love.

OKAY so I finished this book several hours ago but I really needed time to process it. Make sure you’re ready to cry when you pick this one up because I wasn’t and when I finished at 5am ugly crying I really didn’t want those emotions thank you.

The Plot
So the first thing we learn is that Raine is rejecting Caleb’s proposal. While it doesn’t outright say why until pretty close to the end it’s hinted at pretty heavily. Caleb is, rightfully so in this instance, blindsided by her refusal seeing as they’ve been together 7 years. From there we watch them try to pick up the pieces of their lives and see them going back to each other time and time again.

The Characters
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I love dual pov books. I always feel so much more invested when I get to be inside the head of all main characters and that’s especially true for this book. During Caleb’s pov parts you really can feel the struggle he’s going through. Having to juggle as much as he is while trying to come to terms with his breakup is gut wrenching in some places. I cried more from his pov than from Raine’s. Raine’s pov is not great either lol. Her family life is pretty freaking awful to be honest. Throughout most of the book she feels incredibly isolated and alone like she deserves all the pain she’s enduring. You really feel it though towards the end and trust me you’re going to cry there too.

Both the characters have a pretty good amount of growth. They learn how to be open and honest with someone, how to ask for help when you need it, and I think more importantly how to stand up for yourself (talking to you Raine.) These two are definitely my favorite from the series so far.

The Conclusion
If you liked the others in this series you’re going to love this one. In my opinion it has everything the others have and more. A really engaging plot line that grabs you pretty much from the very beginning, characters that grow and evolve throughout the story, and the feels. Will pick this up again for a reread when I need a good cry.

“𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐚 𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐭, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐈’𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞.”

The small town romance Lose You to Find Me by B. Celeste centers on the relationship between sales clerk Caleb Anders and barista Raine Copelin.

I will blame my high fever and runny nose for why I sobbed nonstop the entirety of the book. But really this novel was truly just so heartbreaking and full of angst.

After reading the prologue and the blurb, I knew what to expect from the novel, and I was devastated for Raine. She was coping with a lot, including her diagnosis and the difficult things she had to go through with her family.

And there was Caleb and all of the awful things he was going through with his father.

However, I hated the feeling that this book was giving, "I'm going to use everything I'm going through as an excuse to use you." For example, it was disgusting that Caleb was sleeping with Raine as well as his dad's nurse at the same time. Also, Caleb left Raine after telling him of her diagnosis and then held her responsible for it, all the while knowing full well that Raine would be unable to provide him with the ideal future life he had in mind at every opportunity.

To be honest, though, their relationship started off so toxic already. Like, Raine went and gave her virginity to a beach boy and then lied to Caleb about it when they did it. And it only happened because Raine and Caleb were supposedly dating, but they never had the "exclusive" conversation.

Let's not even talk about Raine's mother at this point. She was an asshole, and I hated her. I hated her even more for making a joke about the diagnosis of her own daughter, which Raine subsequently forgave her for. Their relationship was toxic as well.

You cannot try to convince me that the relationship between Raine and Caleb or this book was not toxic, and the only reason I chose to read it through to the end was due to the angst.

I loved this book so much and I have always loved Caleb and Raine since Dare You to Hate Me! They were the “it couple” since they were high school sweethearts and when Caleb asked her to marry her and she said no, I was very shocked. there was a lot of miscommunication that happened since Raine didn’t mention some things from her past that could have been resolved a long time ago, but I completely understood her reasoning while reading this book. I cried so many times whether it was sad or happy since both Caleb and Raine have gone through a lot in the past and present. I could definitely relate and connect a lot with Caleb since his dad had brain cancer so did mine, it really hit close to home and understood his feelings as well. I loved seeing how much love they have for each other by showing up when the other person needed them!! I love this series so much and can’t wait for the next book!! even after finishing this book, I can’t stop crying while thinking about everything that happened

Thank you to B. Celeste, Bloombooks and Netgalley for book 3 in the Lindon U series! I've been lucky enough to receive ARCs for all three books in the series so far and am completely hooked!

I've been waiting for Raine and Caleb's story and I was not disappointed! This is your classic first love, first heart break, one true love story where our MCs have lost their way. We get to witness them live their lives apart as circumstances outside of their control keep them apart.

Don't worry, you still get to see some of the past MCs, but this book did have a different feel from the first two which I enjoyed. It's not your classic sports romance but brought together all of the best elements to create a heart warming and spicy read. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to continue reading the series in 2024!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶🌶.5

Lose You to Find Me is the 3rd book in the Linden U series. I have not read the previous books, but I did not feel like I was missing anything, so I think you can read this one as a standalone. Although, I could tell there was probably a build-up to this couple’s break up in the previous books.

This book opens with Caleb proposing to Raine at their college graduation, but Raine says no. Caleb is confused because they have been together for 7 years, and he thought that they were happy and on their way to the next phase in their relationship. Raine is hiding a big secret and doesn’t feel like she is the best thing for him. She ends things and lets him go, to do what she thinks is the right thing. Caleb and Raine are forced to learn how to live without their other half and move on.

Caleb is struggling with not only losing Raine, but his father has brain cancer, and he is dying. He has to take care of his dad’s store, deal with school, try to spend as much time with his father, and try to move on from Raine. Raine has moved back in with her mother and is dealing with her parents' complicated relationship and divorce.

They keep getting drawn back to each other, but Raine is refusing to be honest and tell Caleb the truth. This was my main issue with this book. I thought the reason Raine ended things was ridiculous, even though it can be understandable. She waited 7 years to end things instead of just communicating with her longtime boyfriend. She is going to become a psychologist, yet she does not work through anything in her life. I was very frustrated with her character throughout this entire book, especially when she did not tell him the truth when Caleb really needed her in his life. She basically white-fanged him.

Overall, I really enjoy B. Celeste’s writing, and she does draw you into the story. This one just had one of my pet peeves in romance used as the entire plot point, miscommunication, and lying.

i’m gonna have to give this one a solid 5 stars. while so much of the angst comes from not communicating (which given the reasons, part of me understands raine), it still served in the angst category. like insane angst. and not to rank books by their tropes, but second chance romances are so good. i adored raine and caleb and :’)

thanks to NetGalley and publishers for the arc!

Thank you so much to the wonderful author for a copy of this fantastic book for review! The third book in the Lindon U series will hit readers who are fans of the series harder than before! At the end of the second book, we are all left wondering why Raine turned down Caleb's purposal especially Caleb. But only Raine knows the hard truth of her decision, but both Raine and Caleb are dealing with the consequences of this in different ways. They both are trying to live their lives separately from one another which they struggle with a lot throughout this book. For the past seven years they had been around each other and really invested themselves into their relationship with their families, friends, activities, etc. Which makes it so hard for them to try and live without each other. Throughout this book, there are many times that they come back together, not fully, but just when Raine or Caleb need one another the most. Raine harbors a dark secret that threatens to crack open and Caleb desperately wants to know what happened to what they had. But there's so much going on in his life at this time as well. He tries to be so strong for everyone during a hard family matter despite dealing with the horrible break-up. Raine believes that it was for the best to let Caleb go to live the life he would always want. It really broke her heart to let him go, but she really believes she could never give him the life he would want to have with her. She held on to this secret for years and everytime she sees the love of her life, it threatens to spill out. But Raine loves Caleb so much that she wants to stick with believing that letting him go is for the best rather than tell him the dark truth. I really loved the topics that this book hit into! It's definitely ones that are not spoke about enough and I loved how they were explored! I also really loved that this book showed one family that was really loving and the other struggling with how to show love correctly. But each family came over their own struggles and came out so much stronger through everything that went on with Caleb and Raine. This book will break your heart and make you cry a few times, but it will help piece it back together. Lose You to Find Me is definitely my favorite out of this standalone series so far!

4⭐️ don’t get me wrong, I loved this book and finally finding out more about Caleb and Raines story, and seeing them grow as individual characters rather than just being side people in the other stories. However, I think the ending of this book felt severely rushed and that’s what kind of made me drop from a 5 star review to a 4 star one. I was enjoying this book a lot up until the very end. I just felt like the entire issue of the book that literally caused the characters to not get back together until the last fifty pages was just brushed aside in the end. It didn’t feel fully acknowledged at all, I feel like the characters talked about the problem once, forgave each other, and then just dropped it. And that felt weird to me considering how big of an issue it was throughout the entire book and led to the characters barely speaking to one another. I also didn’t like that the problem was never fully acknowledged in the end anyways? Like Raine admits to her so-called “cheating” (if you can even deem it that), not being able to have kids, and losing her virginity to someone other than Caleb, but she never talks about her miscarriage which I think was a huge component to her reasoning for the breakup. It just felt weird to me that that whole part was ignored in the end, I don’t know. The miscommunication throughout this also pissed me off, like JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER. literally the book could’ve been done in 30 pages if the characters just said what was bothering them, it was lowkey annoying. But besides that, I loved Raine and Caleb’s independent stories and seeing them as something more than just side characters, they have my heart. And you can always trust that B. Celeste is gonna make your heart break with her books, like this genuinely made me cry several times while reading, so that’s always nice.

Thank you to Bloom and B. Celeste for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Unfortunately, this book just wasn’t for me. I absolutely adored the first two books in this series. And when I found out Raine and Caleb would be the couple in this book, I was SO EXCITED. However, I honestly hated Raine the entire time. Which makes me so sad, because as someone who can relate so much to the struggles that Raine’s character was going through, I could not relate to how selfish she was. And the way she would have internal monologues about how she was wrong and she lied, but then out loud she would gaslight Caleb into thinking she was the victim and he was awful. And her waffling about whether she cheated (which I 100% believe that what she did was cheating) was ridiculous to me because if Caleb had done the same thing he would be brutalized (and in fact he was for what happened with Emma). I just honestly couldn’t handle it. Raine’s mom was the WORST. She was a liar, emotionally manipulative, and selfish to a fault. The fact that there was an attempted redemption of her when she barely apologized or tried to change was crazy to me. The best part of the story for me was Mr. Applebee. The story of his wife, his daughter, and his wise advice was beautiful to me. I’m really sad this one wasn’t for me, but I absolutely loved the first two books of this story. Also, I really missed Olive in this book and I’m still holding out hope that she gets the story she deserves!

I just couldn’t get into this book. I understand the characters in here are meant to be flawed, just like actual people are…but this was just hard to read. None of the characters (main or minor) were likable. I grimaced and shook my head throughout the entirety of the book.

You basically are reading about a couple once in love who breaks up in the prologue. Then you read about other people they are dating or seeing while the FMC and MMC lust after one another and randomly sleep with each other when they need to blow off emotional steam or stress. Yeah, it’s not a good trip.

I just couldn’t get into this when this happened, and it was just downhill from there. I normally love this author, but this book just wasn’t for me.

When I requested this book to ARC read via Netgalley it was becoz of 3 things; the cover, the title (it was giving selena gomez lose you to love me) and ofcourse the angsty blurb. I was in the mood to cry and not going to lie I came close at a specific part to tearing up.

It was a beautiful story, very emotional packed and deep. It dealt with serious issues and depressing ones.

13% into the book and I knew what Raine's secret was, all of it. So I was eager to read more and see how it all worked out.

Both of the main characters were tremendously strong and suffered a lot.

I felt so bad for Caleb and the pressure he was under. The writing was so real I felt my sympathy for him increasing further and further as I read. I literally wanted to jump into the book and help him or just tell the guy "it's okay, you can let it out" and give him a hug. However I wished he treated Emma a bit better as she was a wonderful character and I would love to see her story. She deserves an epic love.

This story delivered on the raw emotions, angst, unwavering love & what it means to go back to the person that hurt you because their love forever consumes you and you'll always care about them.

It was apparent Raine & Caleb never fell out of love with each other and their love indeed was so beautiful and so intact. It eventually could withstand it all.

I enjoyed it but one thing I'd say is that I know the miscommunication trope was required but however so, it did make me get a bit tired of it being dragged out. Again though it was a requirement to contribute to the story and overall it was a well written book with solid characters so I can let it slide.

There were plenty of moments and quotes I digitally highlighted as it spoke to me and I resonated with a few parts deeply, which I liked.
