I spent 20 years serving in the United States Air Force, and have had the fortune to live all over the world, including Iceland, Germany, and in a tent for a year in Saudi Arabia.

Always an artist at heart, I produced many paintings during my adventures. After my service, I settled down with my family (wife, two great daughters, 2 cats and a little white fluff dog) in small town Iowa, where I love to volunteer at the antique carousel. Now, I help people with intellectual disabilities to reach their potential and teach psychology classes at a local college.

I switched from a paint brush to a pen and am now a horror writer, by night.

I have had short stories published by Visionary Press, The Horror Zine, Crypto and Co., and several horror anthologies.

Escape from your reality for a bit and get scared.

Much like My Lover, My Garden, Erik knows how to take simple every day things and turn them against you. We see white vans everywhere but add a maniac to it and you've got a great combination for a terrifying story that makes you afraid to look out your window.

It was a short and very quick read. Straight to the point and heart of the story.

A madman's obsession with sharks becomes all too real and he's looking for his next bite. You see that van parked just outside your house...beware locking your doors and ignoring it won't make it go away. You'll need to run and fight for your life, if you can. Mr. Gustafson satisfies a readers need for the good guy not always winning. Quick and worth the read.
