The Comet Clement series moves from strong to stronger!

The premise is simplicity itself. A select "Inner Circle" (described at length in the first book) is aware of the impending collision of a comet with earth in five years. The size of the comet is such that the resulting damage will likely eliminate the human race and the story line is the description of the monumental effort to stave off that eventuality with whatever technology is available.

This series can be described as a page-turning genre bender including the best of techno-thrillers, suspense thrillers, sci-fi and even remnants of 1960s cold war thrillers. No avenue for saving the human race is left unexplored - space stations, deep sea habitats, underground bunkers and, of course, diverting the comet from its anticipated collision course with earth. But, in the meantime, the Inner Circle is forced to deal with real world politics, budget considerations, international diplomacy, venal personal and corporate greed and the realities of human psychology in the face of chaos and disaster.

Perhaps this series is so compelling because it seems so inescapably possible. An earth-shattering comet? Why not ... mega-collisions causing mass extinctions with astronomical bodies have certainly happened before! A secret closely held at the highest government levels because those privy to the secret felt that the public would be unable to deal with the consequences of knowledge? Hah ... that's never happened, has it? Presidents squabbling with vice-presidents and Democrats locked in budget debate with Republicans? Unheard of! Misinterpreted diplomatic incidents? Never! Doesn't happen!

Well, you get the idea. But don't start here. Begin with "INNER CIRCLE", block out some serious reading time, sit back and enjoy. You're in for a treat.

Boring

The story line was completely unbelievable. Any near proximity comet would have been spotted by any of hundreds of telescopes around the globe. The chapters leaving off with ..... was a poor attermpt to mimic the old movie theater cliff hanger series with poor Penelope tied to the RR tracks. There were too many different story lines going at the same time and the explanations became space fillers (pun intended). I skipped much of the last half and read maybe 1 out of every 20 pages. There is a hint of promise if the author will stop being so verbose.

This book was a waste of my time and I am retired. I will see what comes next and decide if I am going to change my mind. BTW I read at least 2 books per week and I do not give out gratuitous reviews. Nor am I trying to be nasty, just honest.

I am enthralled and captivated by Kevin George's Comet Clement saga. I don't usually stick around for so long in a series, but these books have forced me to reconsider sleep. There's a touch of Lucifer's Hammer (my favourite novel of all time) in the Comet Clement series. The characters grow and evolve naturally as the story progresses. I actually care less about the comet than I do about the intricate characterisation and sub-plots.

What will become of these characters by the end of the final book? I cannot wait to find out.

This series is fabulous! In book 2 Earth begins construction on a space station to save humanity from destruction from a comet headed for Earth. The details and new characters added to this second in a series of 12 novels were well developed and well connected to the story. The author, Kevin George, NEEDS a new editor, though. I'd happily volunteer for the job just to read the rest of his books for free! Heck, I'm gonna read them anyway. If you like science fiction or doomsday fiction, this is the series for you!

Finished the first 4 and will have to get the rest to see what happens. The wind up to the comet strike is continued in books 2-4 as the space station gets built, the Russians dig deep under the mountains as their way to survive and the super sub is completed with hopes to ride out the event in the deep ocean. The 4th ends with the last trip of evacuees to the space station left to go and the reader is left to get the follow on books to see what happens next. A good read though even though it does jump around quite a bit as it follows the many different characters involved.

Space race excitement

I usually don't like political based stories, but this story has such a diverse range of topics the politics take a back seat to the survival strategies. The explanations for all events involving the space station construction are fascinating and less technical than one would think. Everything is explained so simply it is easy to follow the story and remain interested. I am going to start reading book four as soon as this review is posted. I would recommend this series to anyone who likes to read good books..not just science fiction junkies.

Different

This novel has a different twist on doomsday scenarios. This might well be the process should something like the Clement come our way. The way that the secret was kept and the saving process begun was exciting and well done. The develop,meant of the characters made them feel very real to the reader. This version ends with the election of a new president who has vowed to stop construction of one of the cornerstones of human survival. Guess I’ll have to seek out the next volume to see what happens!!

Interception #2 - the rocket with the nukes are within hours of the comet. The president has to be start the Space station. Will the nukes work.
New space Race #3 - The Russians, The Chinese, and the US are race to finish their space station. The comet is still on course. the government are picking people to save the human race. A Civilian sea station is being build by the American's and the Russian are building a station in the mountain. We the people of Earth be save or will all be lost?

This is a terrific continuation of the first in the series. I wasn't sure about how sequels would be, but these two follow up superbly. Great characters that we already know and like. Be prepared for a few surprises, of course. Even thought these two amounted to close to 1,000 pages, I couldn't stop reading. The adventures and characters created make the reader just want to continue being with them. These books are highly recommended.

Well, what do you think might happen if an astronaut spends 4 years in space all alone with the task of intercepting a comet, not to destroy it but to deflect it? Interception gives one likely outcome.
The new space race is between the US and China although they don't know they're building a space station to continue the species.

Race to space

I'm not usually into space or "sci-fi" type novels, but this one is good! It is engaging and well written. Not your typical sci-fi novels with highly unrealistic story lines. I plan to read the rest of his novels about Comet Clement to find out what happens!

Surival

I really enjoyed this book. I did think this was more of a mystery than sci-fi. The challenge of this book was keeping track of the key players. Once that was done. I had a hard time putting the book down. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot. The "inner circle" kept me on the edge of my seat. There was politics, mystery, sci-fi......loved it. Will the ark's be finished in time to save humankind?

Two books of the series. Still enjoying them.

This book was interesting because it answered questions I had in following books. A few editorial errors, but not enough to distract me or change my rating. I still recommend this series, but start at the beginning if you do. However, that's not necessary to enjoyment of these books.

The " Comet Clement series " keeps you wanting more the characters are interesting and on a unknown path soon to cross. I just have to finish this series of books, I can't stop till I reach the end. Every reader who craves a great sci-fi will love " Kevin George's " "Comet Clement series."

Once again, the plausibility factor is a bit low, but once you accept that and just go along for the ride, it's not bad. The author does have a bad habit of being too fond of cliffhangers. It doesn't help that he doesn't always remember to go back and tie up loose ends. Still, considering these were free, I'm not minding the problems, even though I agree he could use a better editor.

Plot is captivating as long as you remember Poe 's suspension of disbelief. I felt like was reading a draft. George could use a good proofreader. That ring said , I ordered all the books in the Comet Clement Series.

Intriguing story that goes into ,to many lives but some times not enough. But still. it keeps you wondering, pondering how is going to tell the top secret ?
