Good advice for tough times"To succeed in life, you need three things: a wishbone, a backbone and a funny bone." —Reba McEntire "You can't be brave if you've only had wonderful things happen to you." —Mary Tyler Moore "Sometimes you just have to pee in the sink." —Charles Bukowski "Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." —Mark Twain "Anyone who trades liberty for security deserves neither." —Benjamin Franklin "When your dreams turn to dust, vacuum." —Desmond Tutu Ever had one of those days when nothing seems to go your way? Poor little you. Now deal with it! Life is too short to spend moping around when instead you could be taking things with a pinch of salt—and a shot of tequila. Here's a book packed with straight-talking quotations to help you get a grip and find the brighter side.
When I saw this at the bookstore I thought: now there’s something everyone should really read; and it is. A quick and humbling read for one of those days that you need to gain some perspective and remember that we’re all in this together and sometimes you just need to step back and laugh
there were some quotes that i loved in this book like ‘What do we live for, if it’s not to make life less difficult for each other?’. i didn’t care for the ‘you will experience many traumas. get over it’. philosophies that focus on just moving past shit and pessimism don’t make sense. bumming everyone out. i much prefer philosophies that are loving, compassionate, and sensitive to every situation. like trying to live life making each other happy. or the quote ‘if there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace’. wanting life for others to be pleasurable. knowing that others are safe and cared for. i love it. way more than ‘fuck you for still feeling sad’
This book has many short quotes, one on each page. They are very uplifting and inspiring. Many brought smiles. Despite the title, the quotes inside are motivating. Because the book is physically small, I will keep it nearby and open it daily to a random page. Many of the quotes will keep me going.

Well, there's no carpe diem in this little book of quotes, which I appreciate, though there's some echoes of it in some quotes. A nice little book to keep at the toilet to relax for your #2.
