Sinds Lanfeust met zijn magische zwaard in Eckmül is aangekomen, is hij het proefkonijn geworden van de geleerden van het conservatorium. Zij onderzoeken de invloed van het ivoor van de Magohamoth op Lanfeust. Op een dag lijkt het echter alsof Lanfeust de totale kracht kwijt is. Tot overmaat van ramp heeft Thanos op dat moment gewacht om vanuit de Baronieën met een gigantisch leger op te rukken tegen Eckmül. De stad valt en Thanos wordt de nieuwe heerser. Lanfeust, meester Nicoledes, Cixi, C'ian en Hebus weten met de hulp van de mysterieuze draak Sfax te ontsnappen en vinden asiel in het Rijk van Darshan. Daar proberen ze binnen te dringen in het Paleis der Goden want die kunnen hen vertellen waar de Magohamoth rust. Met de hulp van het mythische dier hopen ze Thanos te verslaan en Eckmül te bevrijden.

Christophe Arleston is the common pen name of French comic book writer and editor Christophe Pelinq. He is best known for creating the Lanfeust of Troy series and its many sequels and prequels.

He also worked as "Scotch Arleston".

This was probably my favourite until now. It keeps all the good things from the previous volumes while heightening the plot! The story gets back on track, the stakes are upped, more action and adventure and we discover a new culture with a different magic system!

Lanfeust leaves his magic sword lying on a table, enabling Thanos to return and conquer the entire continent.

Luckily, there’s still one last-ditch hope — securing aid from the magohamoth. Thanks to the shield of Gold-Azure, they know where he is — Questie. So the party embarks for the far east by way of Darshan.

Inexplicably, they become involved in Darshanide politics and agree to head north, to the palace of the gods, and ask them the whereabouts of the magohamoth. So what was the shield for?

That inconsistency aside, this is an entertaining volume with colorful, lively art; humor; imagination; and plenty of action — the conquest of Eckmul, aerial dragon battles, and an obstacle course filled with traps.

Dans ce cinquième tome, Lanfeust et sa clique renouent avec l’action et les blagues potaches. Les péripéties et les surprises s’enchaînent! L’épisode débute à Eckmül, où notre héros, étudie de près par les sages, s’ennuie ferme. Suite aux manigances d’un ennemi tapi dans l’ombre, il va bientôt sortir de sa torpeur…

La version audio est toujours aussi fantastique, quelle adaptation incroyable!

Kolejny bardzo dobry tom, fabuła gna na złamanie karku, a sytuacja zmienia się jak w kalejdoskopie, zwrot akcji za zwrotem akcji. Jeśli chodzi o rozrywkową, przygodową fantasy to "Lanfeust" jest marką samą w sobie.
