Now is this a true 5 stars? No. HOWEVER, I read this book when I was 11 and am now 28. I have spent the last 17 years wondering what this book was and thinking about this book and trying to find this book because of the impact it had on me. I literally had to type the description of it into reddit and had to have people help me figure out what this book was. BUT I HAVE IT NOW. It was everything I remembered and more. I had such a good time reading back through this and reliving my little 11 year old days. Do I think this book was entirely appropriate for being in a middle school library? Probably not, but I read it and it was glorious. It was very 90s in the best way. 10/10

If you like this genre I would recommend it, well written, good story. If your from the Quad Cities I recommending even more to you because there’s a few things mentioned location and name wise that make you feel like you are there.
