Don't just survive—go to war. Weapons and Warfare in the Zombie Apocalypse offers a detailed examination of the weaponry and battle tactics that will help you take the fight to the hordes of the undead. Drawing on a background in the study of ancient and pre-modern warfare, Dr. Alasdair offers the prospective "zompocalypse" survivor a detailed study of the tools and techniques that will make every denizen of the post-apocalypse what they need to become—a warrior. Other zombie guides offer you general information covering a wide range of topics. Where did zombies come from? What causes them to reanimate? This volume is unconcerned with those questions. The focus here is not what caused them to rise, but instead how to destroy them and which tools will help you do so. When the world ends, you must become a warrior. You will have no other choice.
I have a Ph.D. in Roman and Mediterranean history. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, which is a marvelous place (if you're from there at least). I recently published my first book, entitled "The Cat: A Short History," which (as it sounds) is a brief history of the domestic cat from prehistory to the present. After spending four years writing a highly specialized dissertation about slaves and slave rebellions I decided to write some things purely for fun, and so I ended up with a book about cats. My forthcoming book is entitled "Weapons and Warfare in the Zombie Apocalypse." What can I say, I'm a nerd. I live with a variety of selfish cats who have kept me sane through graduate school. When not teaching or writing I read (usually history), play the guitar, cook, and think about what I'm going to write next.
