Emma is not thrilled with always having to rearrange her schedule so she can babysit her younger brother, Jake. Now Emma’s parents have broken some news that really threatens to push Emma over the edge—since Emma and Jake are going to the same day camp this summer, she’s expected to sit with Jake on the bus. Coco Simon always dreamed of opening a cupcake bakery, but she’s afraid she would eat all the profits. When she’s not daydreaming about cupcakes, Coco edits children’s books and has written close to 100 books for children, tweens, and young adults, which is a lot less than the number of cupcakes she’s eaten. Cupcake Diaries is the first time Coco has mixed her love of cupcakes with writing.

Emma went to a camp called The Hotcakes. She met a lot of new friends - Kira, Elle, Georgia, Charlotte, and others. She felt sorry for Kira because her mother died and her father was away. She has three older sisters and a brother who take turns taking good care of her.

The Hotcakes also met the Cupcake Club. Emma also met her celebrity named Romaine. When she went to a store to see Mona and her assistant Patricia. They were in a big hurry. Until she met Romaine. Emma looks a lot like Romaine's niece and wants Emma to model for her because Romaine is getting married and she wants to buy a wedding dress. She became friends with Emma, The Hotcakes, and the Cupcake Club.

Next year there will be a talent show at a camp. But it will also be Jake's birthday, Emma's little brother. So she needs a lot of planning and help. When Jake's birthday came, the Cupcakers made him cupcakes with gummy worms. He was very pleased! He loved them!

After Jake's birthday it was time for the talent show. Emma practiced a lot with her flute. But she's too shy. But the good thing was Mona helped her smile brightly, eyes sparkling, chin up, and shoulders back. But Emma can't play the flute alone so Jake was bribed by the Cupcakers. So he promised to not cause any trouble and helped Emma with the talent show wearing a tuxedo! He looked absolutely cute and adorable! Emma won the talent show!

Thank you, Coco for being my good cupcake friend! And making up stories like this! Always remember to let your inner cupcake shine through!

I highly recommend The Cupcake Diaries series to all tween readers. These books bring to life what real friendship is all about, even if it is through the making of cupcakes. I feel that these books also empower girls to remember that tween life is meant to be clean-cut, wholesome. Who wants to grow up too fast anyway?

I also love that each book focuses on an individual member of the Cupcake Club.

In the latest installment, the focus is on Emma. It’s summer and it’s time for day camp. But, does her brother Jake really have to go to the same one? Of course he does. And not only that, but Emma has to “babysit” him on the bus to camp each day. This alone is a trial of her patience, but she meets new friends, has a great time, and learns that sacrifice for family can never lead her down the wrong path—even if she would rather ride with her best friend to camp each day instead.

With typical “one for all and all for one” attitudes, the Cupcake Club comes together to make it all work—even when Emma doesn’t think she can take her brother anymore.

I can't hold it in! Everytime I read about Emma, her little brother's attitude overshadows everything else. It's like, the parents have to bribe the kid to do something! He throws a tantrum if everything isn't how he likes it: all that is Terrible parenting!! Kids are supposed to get over their terrible twos AFTER they are 2! Yes, he definitely is a cutey though, but this annoying habit(trait?) is annoying to read about. Still, cupcakes are awesome! 4 stars!!

Cupcake Diaries- Emma All Stirred Up! This book is about a girl named Emma and it is finally summer and Emma feels like she is going to be free... at least that what she thinks. Her parents must break the news that she must babysit her brother at day camp. The bad news is that she also, has to ride/ babysit him on the bus as well. Crazy Crazy things happen on the bus, her brother gets car sick, she sees her enemy and much more. Emma did get lucky because she got to have one of her best friends Alexis on her team for camp and she is happy!!! I recommend this book to the people who like funny books. I loved this book it was so interesting and couldn't stop reading it.

I haven't read any other Cupcake Diaries books, but figured I'd give Emma All Stirred Up! (title needs some grammar help) a try because of the summer camp setting. Turns out most of the book doesn't take place at camp, and it's not really the focus of the plot. Just in general, I wasn't impressed. The writing style was weak and kind of annoying. There were too many subplots, none of which were well-developed and all of which were hard to keep straight. And I was alarmed by how many times Emma, when mildly embarrassed, says "I wanted to die," or when mildly annoyed by her little brother, says "I wanted to kill him". Not recommended.

This book's central focus is Emma. Emma eagerly anticipates summer camp as it means a break from babysitting her younger brother, Jake, or so she thought. When her parents inform her that Jake will be joining her at summer camp, Emma is less than enthused. Emma knows that she will be tasked with looking after Jake. Will Emma find the perfect mix to sweeten up her summer plans? Overall, this is a cute book. The cupcakes sound delicious.

Emma is going to camp with Alexis and she makes great friends named Kira and Elle who named their team hotcakes. She invited the hotcakes to make cupcakes with her other friend s and Katie wasn't that welcoming. though they fix their problems and become friends Emma even models for a celebrity. There's a talent show and Emma is nervous to participate. Though ends up winning a prize.

I highly enjoyed this tale of friendship and dreaming big! It was moving, funny and had all kinds of positive messages for children. I definitely understand the series' popularity and will be recommending it to readers that enjoy journal style books as well as "girl power" type stories.

This book had a nostalgia element for me, since I read it when I was younger. I feel like camp Sydney is more believeable than school Sydney, you know?

Go Emma!

“I’m all about lists.”

Emma goes to day camp, where she has to look after her little brother Jake on the bus and makes new friends. She and Alexis learn to be sensitive to their fellow Cupcake Club friends as they introduce their camp friends - especially to Katie, who is a bit insecure since what happened with Callie. Emma also meets celebrity Romaine Ford and does some modeling for her.

Very cute! I would have liked to read this when I was young!

Mia, Katie, Alexis and Emma are middle-schoolers and members of the Cupcake Club. The Club is a business – they bake cupcakes for special events and make money from it! They often try out new recipes and bake cupcakes for themselves, bake sales at school and their families, as well selling their cupcakes for birthdays and weddings and other events.

The good news – it’s summer and school is over! Emma and Alexis are going to the same day camp!

The bad news – the ultimate mean-girl, Sydney, is at the same camp. And, Emma has to take her baby brother, Jake, - who is prone to car-sickness – on the bus to camp every day and sit with him in case he pukes!

This book is all about friendships, old friends and making new friends, modeling, meeting a celebrity, trying new things, and cupcakes.

In this series, the Cupcake Club members take turns narrating – so far there are 13 books.

That's what happenned with Emma and her cupcake team. When the famaous singer, addicted and ask them to make a cupcake for her wedding. What can be better than this??

Also, for Emma, make a new friend and let your old friend know it, its really important. They are play together without feeling uneasy.

Loved this book and the series just keep getting cuter. I love the series even as an adult reader. As I've said before it's got a Babysitter's club feel about it, but with its own twist. Give these a read.

I can't relate to books about people who are afraid to stand up to bullies, or books about people caught between new and old friends. Mostly because I haven't had much trouble with either and because I wouldn't react the way the main character does.
