This chunky, colourful board book, using the popular characters from Apple Tree Farm, introduces first words to very young children. Children should enjoy making the noises of their favourite farmyard animals and find animals to look at, point to and talk about.

#readtothenibling I took 4 books off the shelf, and this is the one M wanted read over and over :/ It has 5 animals, so it's very repetitive (not quite as bad as Who Says Roar? ). Though the fact that the illustrations are very simple (one animal per spread) may make it really easy for a toddler to focus.

Very basic, maybe good for a 1 year old. and only Cartwright book I've seen where there is no hidden duck on each page.

e.e. loved this book, flipping through it again and again. It doesn't have the most amazing illustrations, so I knocked off a star.

A very cute story which tells children all about basic animals and the sounds that they make!

Pig, sheep, dog, cow, cat.
My 18 month old loves the animal sounds -- my 5 1/2 year old loves that he can easily read this to his brother....
