The story’s rhythm is quick and Karina’s style will barely allow you to take a breath as you follow Raven, Ice, Eve, Scarlet, Storm and Jade throughout their double life as normal women by day and charmingly lethal women by night. Lawless Justice flows like a bestseller, the characterization is nothing short of impressive and the story has a great balance of moments of calm in-between the physical and psychological action. When reading this book you will get to know and appreciate each one of the Kittnz, while at the same time slowly discovering more about them and what brings them together.
Karina Kantas tries to make these female characters authentic and avoids successfully the trap of just taking a male counterpart and dressing it as a woman, while at the same time showing a great deal of knowledge about how an MC works.
Sisterhood, trauma, friendship, family, self-worth, power, respect and reputation are some of the many themes this book deals with, and the author doesn’t forget to induce the reader to reflect upon the role of violence in human nature and the power it has to change someone’s character.
Lawless Justice is a female tale that embraces universal concepts that are in every single one of us and the novel is a powerful page-turner that will have you always wanting for more.
I love reading novels to the sound of music and let me tell you: you could be tempted to read this while cranking up some AC/DC in your headphones, but a tale of badass women requires a badass female voice – which is the reason I went with The Pretty Reckless most of the time.
Like I said in the beginning, Lawless Justice‘s catchphrase should be “A Rock & Roll Fable“, and the strongest asset of this books is perhaps the way it turns the tables on your expectations: you would have an easy time finding five stories where men are so badass that you want to be like them or part of them, but if I dared you to five the same amount of those stories with females as main characters… you would be in trouble, my friend.
Did I fall in love with the Kittnz? Well, maybe a little bit, but hell who wouldn’t!? Most of all, I found myself wishing I could be one of them and live that life, breathe that sisterhood – this makes this book not only extremely empowering but also a story you won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
The ending is one of those rare ones that leave you there, in a paradox where you don’t want it to end while at the same time you’re just happy and you hope that there isn’t a sequel, because the story is just perfect as it is.
I don’t know how often this will happen in the blog, but if this book isn’t a 5/5, then I have no idea of what could be.
So I wasn't sure what I was going to read. I was pleasantly surprised with a well thought out MC vigilante group of women. The story focuses on the women and their group and is well done ENJOY.
I received this book as part of the Read it and Reap. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.
This book was very different from most of the types of books I read. I enjoyed the diversion out of my "normal" reading. The author of the book in English and the story takes place in England. I bring this up because several times I found myself re-reading a passage to figure out what was said due to vocabulary differences. Even with the vocabulary differences I was still able to enjoy the book.
The characters in the book are sometimes easy to love and other times they are easy to hate. I think it all fluctuates for me based on what's happening at the time. The girls seem like vigilantes meting out justice at some points and others they seem like down right bullies. Considering they were part of an outlaw biker gang, that seems reasonable.
I was amazed at what they put up from their leader, but this goes to the psychology of being in a gang. Even though she could be a real beotch, she obviously provided the members with something they needed.
Just over halfway through the book I felt like I was just reading the same thing over and over and I found myself skipping passages. The ending was completely unexpected. I wasn't sure how this was going to end and the author did not disappoint with providing a different ending than could be expected.
Overall it was an enjoyable read and I found it interesting.
This is such a great continuation of a theme and stories. Karina Kantas has completely raised the bar on her own work. A fast pace story with strong female characters that drive the point home. You do not mess with some women. A thriller to say the least as I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next. I would definitely recommend this work to anyone looking for a good thriller to read.
If you are bored with the formulaic crime novels produced by the big publishers and want something with more grit, try this outlaw biker series. Lawless Justice is the 3rd book, though can be read as a standalone. If you don't relate to this kind of strong female characters, you'll likely root for them, and tell your friends. There are some brilliant scenes in this. Entertaining. Worth grabbing.
I loved this book. So many different twist and turns in this book. It never went the way you thought it would. I can't wait to read more of Karina Kantas books. I couldn't believe the ending of the book it was a shocker to me. I recommend this book to everyone I know it is a must read.
Seen this gem and since MC is a weakness to read at times I grabbed it even though it is the 3 in this series. This then goes to say is first time in reading this author. I was intrigued by the alpha women that this series had. These ladies gets us going in this one turning the pages to learn all we can. This gives you plenty of action that shows how this works. I got through it easy too since I am a fan of certain British shows. I found this a bit different so it was refreshing.
I received this book to read and review from the Read it and Reap event of the Shut Up & Read group here on Goodreads.
I expected something slightly different based on the blurb for this book, so this ended up being a story way out of the wheelhouse of what I usually read. I enjoy surprises like that as a rule, although I'm not sure this particular book was my cup of tea.
The story follows a gang of female bikers who, amongst other things, hire themselves out as as source of freelance 'justice', vigilante-style. I liked the take on the characters; not your standard-issue street rat, but professional women who share an interest in bikes and roughing people up. I liked most of the supporting characters better than the lead, Cass, who seemed rather flighty in making her decisions. Flighty and violent is a hard combination to love, for me.
The plot moves along at a good pace, although I found some sections repetitive and, as I mentioned above, the sometimes-graphic violent acts were not really my thing. The ending in particular was quite unexpected and that was a nice surprise. The digital copy I received had a few typos in it, but nothing egregious.
Overall, I think the concept of the story is interesting, and I'd recommend the book to folks more interested than I in a different take on both the psychology and nitty-gritty details of an all-girl gang.
When picking up this book think: female biker gang, vigilantes, and bad-a**, smoking- hot women.
The story starts out following Cass later to be known as Ice. She joins a group of females know as the Kittnz. The story then follows their life as a group. They females lead double lives yet the story only follows their night life.
I did not like the story. It wasn't that the story was bad or anything it was not MY cup of tea! I found the book had many grammar errors and for me to say that means something. I am the type to just scan over the odd error but I found this book had a lot. I also didn't like how, when as a group they could kick ass, but when it counted the most (one-on-one) they were kinda weak. But again that my be just something *I* don't like.
I didn't like the ending. It just kinda ended. It felt like it had a ---k, how can I wrap this book up for I am running out of pages -ending. I would much rather have seen justice done at the hands of the Kittnz themselves then how justice was given.
I was given this book for free in exchange for an honest review. I think that this book was a good story. It was well written but as me, I just wasn't into it overall.
What a great read, so well written. It grabbed me & held my attention all the way through, I didn't want to put it down. An outlaw biker girl group with a twist to their actions. It is action-packed with lots of great characters that all come out as you read more. The comaraderie between the girls grows with each chapter with fabulous descriptions given, making it so much easier to visualise each character, along with their backgrounds. I read page after page just to see what would happen next and still wanted more. Highly recommend, but be warned, this book is addictive.
This book... I loved the idea of it. I even enjoyed the story. Unfortunately, the editing was poor which made it harder to read. It was in third person (which, I'm learning to embrace), but it was hard to tell who was talking. It would have been cool if the chapters were specific to one person.
The flow on the kindle could have used some formatting so that each chapter started on a new page.
I love the idea of a girl biker gang though. I've never read one and with a bit of polishing, this book could be badass.
I received this book from a friend. This book was not was not what I expected. This is a great read. It will keep you intrigued through the whole book. The characters do things I wouldn't have expected. Do yourself a favor and grab this book. You will enjoy it.
