A frustrated spaceship captain, her trusty second-in- command, and a handsome alien prove that three is definitely not a crowd.

Spaceship captain Lux Moyans is currently piloting missions for The Company. When her second-in-command, Kol Frega, informs her they’ve been ordered to Kithra, she’s furious. A year on an uninhabitable planet? She’ll only be flying supply missions! But her ship—Kol’s design—is the only one that can withstand the planet’s gases…and Lux is one of the few pilots with the skill to navigate the debris fields resulting from the explosions that killed most of the planet’s Gwinarian race.

Kol is the engineer who learned to manipulate the indestructible metal on Kithra, and he and a surviving Gwinarian will be her only company on planet. When they pick up Egan Lothbrun, Lux knows there will be trouble. She’s already attracted to Kol and she doesn’t need another man to arouse her either mentally or physically. Lux doesn’t want or need the complications that emotions bring. Yet, when she learns Kol and Egan share a painful past, she realizes getting Kithra livable won’t be her only challenge.

Keeping her heart intact might be harder.

A cranky pilot, a sexy second-in-command and an irresistible alien join…forces in more ways than one. And yes, there are close encounters of the sexy kind.

I had two erotic series with Samhain Publishing. I've since received my rights back with the closing of the publisher and will soon put these back out in boxed sets on Amazon and in Kindle Unlimited. They will be under Rinda Elliott, writing as Dani Worth. All of my work is now under Rinda Elliott. I'm currently writing MM romantic suspense with author Jocelynn Drake in the series Unbreakable Bonds and the upcoming Ward Security. Kithran Regenesis and Crux Survivors never picked up a big audience, but if they start to find readers, I will finish both series because I love these worlds quite a bit. Follow me at

https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

The Kithran Regenesis is erotic space opera, mostly menage. The story grew, so while the first two are novellas, the third is longer and the fourth even more so. ORIGIN is a full length erotic menage romance. Crux Survivors is erotic post-apocalyptic, some menage and some not. I love to explore the boundaries of new worlds, love, desire or anything else that strikes my fancy. Good stories make life fun. Some of my stories will have pairs and some will have three–Love is Love. :)

I’ve lived in some crazy places but currently reside in Oklahoma and I’m represented by Miriam Kriss of the Irene Goodman Agency.

The story: the blurb says it all.

Despite the shortness of the story, the world building and character’s backgrounds are, though not fully, pretty well-drawn. Still, it's like a chamber drama, with only three characters, and very limited scenery. I would love to read more about the fantasy world, and to know more about the personalities of the characters.
I’d never been the type to apologize or feel bad for sex. For me, it was a natural part of life—one of the best parts.

The first person point-of-view of Lux also narrows the possibility to be engaged with the male characters.

Though Lux, Kol, and Egan are equal partners in this relationship, I felt Kol and Egan’s story more pronounced because of their common past, common loss, and the mystery surrounding the nature of their relationship.

It’s more a romance than a steamy erotic story: I expected more erotica.
I was in love with them. Completely and utterly in love with them. Mind blowing sex aside, I wanted to get deeper under Kol’s skin, to know who he was to his core. I wanted to make sure Egan continued smiling and being outrageous and never woke alone from a nightmare. I wanted to watch them fuck each other, love each other…and I wanted to be a part of that.

Interesting, romantic story with the appropriate amount of drama. Too bad it’s too short.

I don't know why I think I don't like sci-fi. Maybe it's because I have a picture in my head of what sci-fi readers look like or act like (and that's definitely not me). Maybe it's because all the new terms and phrases that I can't pronounce. But then I often surprise myself when I read sci-fi and really like it.

That's what happened with this book. It was just the right amount of world building for me with some new terms and phrases that I found I understood easily without getting frustrated. The tension between the characters was great and pushed me to finish the book quickly. And I ended the book wanting more - which is good for this author because I went out and finished purchasing the rest of the series.

This was an interesting read and I enjoyed it. Probably closer to 3-1/2 stars, but I rounded up. Glad it was picked as a group read or I might have missed it. I don't really "do" sci-fi unless it's recommended.

I liked how Lux and Kol sort of had this underlying sexual tension before anything started. I applaud Lux's willpower to avoid entanglements with her crew, and I think it was a brilliant move for Kol to make sure they were no longer captain/subordinate before this trip began. The addition of Egan was interesting. It took a bit to figure out Egan and Kol's history. I can't even imagine what Egan went through. And, sadly, I can totally see people from Earth using a planet to the point it becomes unstable. It's what we do, isn't it? Use all our resources until they're gone or destroyed... but I digress.

While I really enjoyed the interactions between Lux, Kol and Kithra and they were certainly steamy, I almost felt cheated by the m/m interaction. I kind of expected a little more. Like the boys screwing, not just oral sex. And while we didn't get screwing, I think they were on their way there. I wonder if they'll get there in future books in the series or if the next book is about different people. Either way, it was an interesting start to the series, and I'll likely continue.

Kithra is a great little sci-fi read. And while I could have used a bit more information about Lux's background, the amount that we get about Kol and Egan is just the right amount to keep us wanting more. The sexual tension is great, and the sex is excellent as well. But the real gem of this book is the world building. The details are vivid and unique, and the "feel" of the world is very real and tactile.

This is the first of a three book series, and I will definitely be reading the remainder based on this great start.

I really loved Dani Worth's post-apocalyptic series "After the Crux" so I figured I would give this a try. I'm really glad I did, this book was awesome but left me wanting more.

The premise is pretty cool and involves lots of sci-fi goodness like flying a ship through dangerous atmospheres, a health scare with some deadly gas and trying to re-establish living environments on a destroyed planet.

Lux and Kol are human and the sexual chemistry is just heating up when Egan (a Gwinarian) joins their mission and then the whole thing just boils over.

I did however wish it was longer and other than a really hot blowjob, there were no M/M sex scenes between Kol and Egan...need more graphic details please.

Kithra is a bittersweet story about three people trying to find their way in a world that has been destroyed.

Lux and Kol have worked together on the same ship for years. Lux is the captain and Kol is her second in command. Because Lux refuses to sleep with anyone of a lesser rank, Kol has kept his desire for her banked. Now that he’s been promoted, all bets are off.

Kol and Lux are reassigned to get the mines up and running on Kithra. Kithra was destroyed years ago in an explosion and has been uninhabited for years. They’re to pick up a Gwinarian and take him with them to Kithra. Kol gets the shock of his life when he finds out it’s Egan, after all Egan is dead, right?

As the three of them spend time on Kithra, they grow to forgive each other, desire each other and finally love each other.

There many things I loved about this book. The biggest thing I loved was the Gwinarnian philosophy on love. You love you love and it doesn’t matter what gender they are or how many there are. They have no hang-ups when it comes to loving relationships.

The sci-fi world Dani created was phenomenal. It was fun to imagine this world she’s created. It’s a beautiful world but not without it’s dangers. Kol, Lux and Egan dealt with all of those dangers as they made the Kithra colony ready for more people.

I was a bit disappointed with a couple of things in this book. First, while the sex was hot, I wanted to read more about the interactions between Kol and Egan. There was some interaction between them, but I wanted more! I was also looking forward to getting more information about Egan and why he kept the fact he was alive secret from Kol. I never did get an answer to that and I’m dying to know the answer.

Dani has a novella that continues the story of Lux, Kol and Egan in Mutiny. Maybe I’ll get some of my wishes in that one!

I received a copy of this book from the author.

Two men and one woman on a planet for a year alone, what could possibly happen? SEX SEX SEX! Well, okay, a little sex. This is a promising new author for me. Ms. Worth is writing in a genre I very much enjoy. There is menage and it's sci-fi/fantasy. Delicious! This story is more a 3.5 star, however I truncate on GR so it is at a 3 star.

The world building in this story is light. It's a federation type universe with different aliens as well as humans. The alien in question is a male Gwinarian. Gwinarian are known for their ability to love cross gender and with more than one partner. This would be okay if it weren't for the history between Gwinarian, Egan Lothburn and the human Kol Frega. Caught in between is Lux Moyans, the captain who is attracted to both males.

The story is a bit confusing at first. For the first chapter, it was not clear to me if Lux is a male or female. With the story in first person, it took me until chapter 2 to determine Lux is a female. The characters are designed with painful pasts. Each character's past is divulged in a high level summary which doesn't exactly satisfy the reader. It makes it so that it's harder to relate to the characters. Still, the focus is not on the characters or the plot. I found it to be more focused on their budding sexual relationship and personal hang ups. This did make the story more tension filled and enjoyable. This smexy sci-fi/fantasy tale is recommended for menage lovers who enjoy a bit of angst.

This is a erotic science fiction romance author to me. She is a wonderful find. The romance, world, and plot were all very good. I would have given it more stars if it were longer. Some books are perfect small bites. This story could have been deepened with more time for the romance and action. I really liked each character and liked them together. More time would have made the love story simply more. This being said, the book was still very enjoyable with emotional sex, complex characters, and the rest of the series to look forward to reading.

An interesting premise that lacked the time and depth needed to be fully realized. The plot existed just enough for the sex scenes to happen, but the story could have been so much better if the author had spent a little more time in the development, both with the world and the characters.

I got this book based on all the favorable reviews. I don't get it. What book were you guys reading?

I have so seldom NOT finished a book. I made it to the fight between E & K before bailing. It just didn't hook me. Boring. And where's all the hot sex people have been talking about? The sex I read was fairly lackluster. (Yawn)
It did help me get to sleep on several occasions though...

Devouring this series! Enjoying it so so much. This book is the first in the series and is a novella. I think the story would have fit novel length beautifully, but we can't have EVERYTHING.

A certain piece of writing advice received years ago: Can the story work without the sci-fi/fantasy setting? Then don't bother making it sci-fi/fantasy. Those weren't the exact words used, but it pretty much sums up my beefs with this novella.

-If setting a story in the far-future, with different planets and whatnot, DON'T make a contemporary pop culture reference. (In this case, Lex Luthor.)

-Heroine doesn't do exclusive relationships? She's in romance fiction; of course she does.

-If your story is basically "sex in space", don't be surprised when readers are left feeling, "Is that it?" That kind of space-hornyness is expected from "Peterotica", but not from professional authors.

-If there are aliens, it's not believable that they're all humanoid. (But of course they are in fiction, so they can be rooted.)

-Heroine thinks she's pretty? She has two handsome males who want to root her in a consensual way - that means they think she's boneriffic. (Or there's no other cootch within the living quarters.)

-If the sci-fi stuff is actually interesting (such as the Kithran regenesis), ACTUALLY FOCUS ON THAT. Because the relationship between Lux, Kol, and Egan totally could've been set on Earth, with war-torn countries or natural disasters or whatever.

Yeah, so I'm all ranty right now. Maybe because I recently saw Gravity, so any other space story is likely to suffer in comparison - especially this one, as it turns out.

But you know what will bring back my sense of humour? Upon starting Kithra, I realised that the three main characters are a spaceship captain, a geologist, and an alien. And because most of my TV viewing is animated, you know who I imagined:

Kithra I thought was a great start to the series and thought it was easy to follow with being sci-fi (which I find at times can get confusing due to terminology, etc) and I just couldn’t help but feel for each of these 3 main characters.

The story begins with Lux Moyans, Captain of the ship, being informed by Kol Frega, second-in-command, that they have been reassigned to a new mission, to go to Kirtha, an inhabitable planet with deadly gases. Right from the beginning the sparks fly between these two. We learn that Lux has a strict policy to not have relations with others that are below her in rank and therefore up until this point her relationship with Kol has been strictly business without even a hint of interest. As part of their new mission they are to bring one more person to this small crew, a surviving Gwinarian, Egan Lothbrun. Right away Lux lusts after him but doesn’t know what to think has she observes the first interaction between Kol and Egan. Obviously there’s a history there, but she has no idea what it could be. The chemistry between the 3 characters is hawt!!

The beginning I felt like just dropped you right into the story with no real introduction to the world, but I didn’t find this to be problem to get into the story or get to know the characters. Dani did a great job of the flow of the story and when/how much past information she revealed throughout. As each part of Kol and Egan’s past is revealed, I just could not help but have my heart go out to them; there is so much unspoken emotion between them. At times I felt that poor Lux was like the 3rd wheel to this past relationship Kol and Egan had, and each time I’d think something(as if I was in Lux’s position) well she went ahead and had the same thoughts and feelings and insecurities about what was going on as well. This feisty, independent woman gets confused about her feelings for these two men and she has to decide if she wants to explore these emotions or stick to her structured planned out future, that doesn’t involve any long term relationships.

Although this was a pretty sexy story, which definitely isn’t the entire story is about. It is an emotional story about 3 individuals who are afraid to love and learn to find trust, acceptance, and compassion within each other. I would recommend this book and will be looking forward the next book in the series that follows.

Kithra is a little different from the usual stuff I read. It’s sci fi romance, my new favourite subgenre, but it’s also erotic romance, which is not what I usually go for. I’m all about story and not so much about reading the sexy times, but I really enjoyed Kithra. There’s a lot of sex, for sure, but the characters and world are well developed and it’s not a novella that exists purely to go from sex to sex to menage-with-an-alien scene. There’s actually a lot of cool story in Kithra, so I think this novella will appeal to people who don’t usually read erotic romance (like me!).

Lux Moyans is a spaceship pilot. She lives to fly. She’s not one for relationships but she is attracted to her crewmate, Kol Frega. She’s never acted on the attraction because she was his superior officer but that all changes when they’re given the bum assignment of going to Kithra to help get the now-uninhabitable planet back on its proverbial feet. Their only company for the year-long assignment? A Gwinarian, a native of Kithra, with a previous relationship with Kol. Gwinarians are known for their free-loving ways, often having multiple partners and not exhibiting any gender preferences, which leads the three main characters into a polyamorous relationship. I’ve never read a book with a relationship like this so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the story was emotionally driven, not all about the sex. You can understand why all three of them are attracted to each other because their personalities are quite compatible.

I was also very interested in the setting. Even in a novella-length story, Dani Worth managed to get a lot of worldbuilding in. There’s space travel, alien species, and interesting technologies. Of course, the length of Kithra does limit the amount of worldbuilding the author can put in but I felt like it was very well-developed and thorough. There are two other novellas in the series so far and I hope that they will continue to build on the platform that has been established.

The Kithran Regenesis series #1
MMF, Futuristic Sci-Fi
Finished 9/5/2012
B&N ebook, $2.94
Overall: 3 stars, Heat: Adventurous

Plot: Lux is a female pilot, Kol is her male 2nd in command and Egan is the hot alien guy they pick up on their way to Kithra, a planet destroyed by explosions several years ago. Their goal is to help Kithra thrive once again by working on the life pods and greenhouses and stuff. Lux and Kol are attracted to each other and have been for several years, although they never acted on that attraction until this mission. Kol was married to Egan’s best friend before the planet was destroyed by the explosions that killed most of the alien race. The Gwinarian race is one of supremely awesome sexual freedom and back in the day, Kol and his wife were on the verge of asking Egan to join them in their family unit. But then the explosions happened and Kol thought Egan had died.

This was a pretty short book (197 pages on the nook) and a fast read. I kind of expected the sex to be more hard core (especially with the MM element), and while it was very descriptive, it wasn’t the raison d’etre for the whole thing. It was actually a sweet story. The awesome thing is that it wasn’t riddled with the whole threesome angst common in ménage stories. The most angsty part was Lux having to make the decision whether to pull back on HER raison d’etre (flying) in order to become a family unit with Kol and Egan on Kithra.

Only three stars here. I put the next one in the series on my TBR list on goodreads, but didn’t get a sample of it for my nook (which is where I normally find books to read).

I love sci-fi romance. Love them.

We have the start of a really intriguing series here. The planet Kithra has been essentially destroyed by a series of mysterious explosions that has basically killed the vast majority of the Kithran's on planet (only a handful on planet survived) and left the planet isolated and inhabitable.

I'm looking forward to future books exploring the origins of these mysterious explosions. I have my own theories so we'll see how those jib with the upcoming books.

Access to the planet is limited through one ship with a particular type of metallic hull that can survive hits from the debris surrounding the planet resulting from the explosions.

I love how this isolates the three characters of the book: Lux, Kol and Egan. No Devil's threeway here. ;) Kol and Egan have history, a pretty tragic and touching history, and I loved reading how these two men work through it and come to terms with their attraction. There's no third wheel here, Lux is full partner here and holds her own with each man.

For a shorter story, we really get a complete picture of each character and the history of the planet. I find some sci-fi romance can get lost in technospeak but I didn't feel that here. There's solid world-building and futuristic concepts that don't overwhelm the core romantic relationship. The chemistry of all these characters are unique to each bond but very complimentary and really, really hot. I'm intrigued with Kithra, there's so much devastation associated with it and it's grim but never hopeless but I like this concept of regeneration.

I liked the start to this erotic sci-fi series. It was short, but I did feel the connection between all three people. I will continue with series.

Short and sweet, scifi romance about three people who are afraid to love and how they overcome.

I was totally into Kol and Lux's story, and then Egan showed up and I was thrilled with the possibilities to come. But then the majority of the feelings seemed to shift to Kol and Egan. For me, it felt like Lux was an afterthought to Kol until he and Egan accepted each other again.
Not to say I didn't enjoy the story, I just felt a little jumbled emotionally in the middle. But, hot damn, don't I wish I was part of that crew!

I enjoyed this menage. I thought Lux gave up her "I don't do exclusives" mantra a little quickly...but then again this is a short book. I have to say I preferred Book 2 Replicant (The Kithran Regenesis, #2) by Dani Worth , which I read immediately after this book.

Fun, sweet short story. A bit too short. The first-person narration was ok, didn't bother me too much, but I do feel like I didn't get much of an insight into the characters. The sex wasn't really that hot, and there were moments where I was convinced they wouldn't end up together, because tbh the bond the men shared together was much stronger than they shared with her.

4.5 rounded down for too short.
It's hard to build a world, develop characters and provide good sexy scenes in any length novel, but a short one is even trickier. Despite that the author pulled it off convincingly enough that I'm hooked and looking for more.
