Revenge of the Loser

Rate this book
Danny Shine is off THE LOSER LIST -- and out for REVENGE.

Danny Shine might have gotten his name off the Loser List in the girls' bathroom, but he's still got problems -- like the new kid, Ty Randall. Ty seems handsome, serious, committed to worthy causes -- everything Danny's not. Will out-of-control jealousy wreck Danny's life, or can he undo the damage before it's too late?

All the highs and lows of middle school are brought hilariously to life in this notebook-style novel, full of drawings, charts, and Danny's unique take on 7th grade.

* SPOLIER ALERT *

Have you ever been in a situation where you have to try to ignore a person that is cool but you dont want to admit it ? Well in this book there is a boy name Danny Shine ( main character ) and in this book there is a boy name Ty Randall that is perfect in the girls eyes .The genre of this book is Realistic fiction.I rated this book 3 stars because I really wasnt into the book like I thought I would be because at the beginning of the book it started off boring.

The setting was in the lunchroom because thats where everything happened. Danny wanted Ty Randall to stop taking over the lunch table, the school and his only crush Asia O'Neill. But when Ty came to the table the topic got all on him and Danny had to find a way to get the topic back on Vampire Slugs and he thought that it was just an idea and everyone turned towards him. Then Ty asked to see his comic book and then he was like he never saw a plant with teeth before and then Danny said that his probably didn't get around much. So Ty gave Danny back the comic book and then Emma said so about this festival. The conflict is person v.s person because Danny wanted Ty to stop taking the attention off him when he talking about his ideas and stop making him feel completely invisible. Danny is obsessed with making comics and his most embarrassing moment is when he gets caught in the girls bathroom and he likes M&M pancakes. Jasper ( Danny best friend ) is freakishly smart and he wears two different colored sneakers .

The characters Danny and Ty are similar because they both kind of like everything about them . They are different because Ty is multitalented and Danny is not really good in anything but drawing comics . The main character problem is that he couldn't take sitting with Ty Randall because his crush Asia O'Neill was swallowing the stuff he was saying. I don't get why the author put so many sections in this book because it could have just been put all together like Diary of a wimpy kid .My favorite part was when Danny walked in on Ty Randall when he was in the bathroom rapping . I was surprised when Ty said he was going to really do the talent show although he didnt make since when he was rapping .

I believe that if the book told more about why Ty moved there it would probably be better . In the book it just states that he is from California and it dont give any details about how his school was and why he transferred from his school. This book is similar to Diary of a wimpy kid and a book name chocolate fever . The author Jeff Kinney and H.N Kowitt should make books together . Because they both have similar thoughts . I can relate to this book because that is how me and my cousins are when we talked about things one of us will just try to change the subject or we will kick each other in the leg under the table to get their attention.

My thought about this book is that it need to give more details on how the characters met .I will overall rate this book a 6 because its not really a book i will read over and over at the age I am although I am the same age as some of the characters in the story . I would recommend this book to kids thats having problems at school like Danny did with Ty Randall . Find a book that you will enjoy reading and that will motivate you to continue reading

The books Revenge of the Loser is a realistic fiction book. I found that not only was the details and characteristics in the book was great but I also enjoyed the plot structure. First of all Danny Shine is the main character and he has a very geeky and kinda smart but funny personality. I Danny the most because he throws some humor and a twist into the book. My least favorite character I would have to say is Ty Randall, Ty is the antagonist in the book. The main reason he is my least favorite character is because he acts super cocky and thinks he is better at EVERYTHING than anyone else. Welp Danny Shine lost to Ty Randall in a art contest and Danny was suppose to be the best artist in the school until Ty won the competition. To me I think as Ty knowing that Danny isn't a big fan of me I would have maybe said your also great at art don't be down so that Danny isn't too upset. But knowing Ty he of course owned it and sorta taunted Danny. That to me being the turning point and conflict in the story really sets a hard "friendship/hate" between the two throughout rest of story. I think that the way that Danny gets revenge on Ty for winning because Danny is mad is kinda funny and very interesting, i suggest you to read the book to figure out how he gets the revenge! The ending I thought was gonna go different but ended up going a different way, I encourage you to read to check out the big details not so much explained to not spoil in second half of book.

The loser list #2: Revenge of the loser by H.N Kowitt. This is a story about a a kid named Danny Shine. He isn't very popular and t everybody calls him a loser. He likes a girl named Asia O'Neill but his dreams with her are interrupted when Ty Randall shows up to Gerald Ford Middle School. Danny gets jealous of his new "enemy" because he sees that Asia and him are getting along TOO well. Throughout the story, Danny tries to get revenge.
I would recommend this to a reader who likes humor in a book. This was very fun to read, and I would read it again. It was also very relate able, in terms of being a teen.

A silly sequel of the first book, Danny makes a whole talent show with Jasper, with the main focus to embarrass the new kid, Ty Randell, whom Danny thinks is an overachiever. If you haven't already, the first book is a good read. I'll link the series (minus this 2nd book) as follows:
The Loser List (Loser List, 1) by H.N. Kowitt First book
Jinx of the Loser (The Loser List #3) by H.N. Kowitt Third book
Take Me to Your Loser (The Loser List #4) by H.N. Kowitt The conclusion

Revenge of the loser list is a book about a kid named Danny that is in middle school. He is having a normal year until this guy named Ty comes along. He is a green-thumbed guy that is always thinking about ways to help the planet. But he is also ripped and girls love him. Even the girl Danny likes Asia. So Danny is not too crazy about Ty. Ty made a group to help the planet so Danny wanted to 1 up Ty so Danny made a talent show to raise money for a field trip.

if you like what you hear you need to read it to find out the ending. This book is very good for Middle Schoolers. I really recommend it.

This was a fun read aloud book for my son and I. There are doodle style illustrations on most pages which helped to hold his attention while I read. There is some name calling and bullying, which led to good conversations about kind choices and recognizing unkind behavior. The main character makes some hurtful choices and works through the guilt of those choices to determine how to mend things. Overall it held a decent balance of humor and moral lessons while also being entertaining.

***Spoiler Alert***

Have you ever felt left out when some one else much cooler came by and the people with you liked that person better? Well in this book Danny shine does because of a boy named ...Ty Randall who is caring about environment and all the girls love him. The Genre of this book is realistic fiction cause it can happen to anyone. I think this book is entertaining that it why I gave it 4 stars.

The setting took place in Danny's school. So it all started in the lunchroom when Danny was siting down with his friend Jasper and he took out a comic he made of Vampire Slugs that he drew. A girl started to read it and it caught the girls attention. They were reading it until Ty came and sat at the table and the girls eyes were glued to him. Even Asia O Neil Danny crush so he got mad at Ty. Then Danny was trying to get there attention so they can read Vampire Slugs. Ty noticed it and was looking through then a girl interrupted and asked about the Green Palooza Danny was getting angry of Ty and thought bad things about him. This creates the Person vs Person because Danny wanted attention but Ty was taking it all and Danny thought that Ty was selfish. Then Danny came up with his own idea to come up with money to rebuild the poor parks and every one thought it was a great idea. Then one day Danny heard Ty rap and he thought it was horrible so he came up with a idea to make a talent show to embarrass Ty. So Jasper and Danny made try out but they noticed Ty didn't sign up so Danny decided to go and talk to Ty to convince him that he needs to rap because it will be a message to this kids about global warming. But Danny had another problem of Chantal she wanted her own room with food and stuff. So the day came and the people were rehearsing and Ty came up and started to rap and the people were laughing. Then they had lighting difficulties and went to the lounge and Chantal said she was leaving because she couldn't rehearse. Danny thought of canceling the show but Ty offered to call Sky Blue a famous bike rider and Danny realized that humiliating Ty was just cruel after Ty brought Sky Blue. Then Danny decided to tell Ty the truth when he was going to go on stage. Ty was furious at him so Danny decided to rap Ty's humiliating song but then Sky Blue joined in and every one started to sing. Then Danny had apologized to Ty and Chantal came back because she heard Sky Blue was there and they enjoyed the show after that.

This books theme is Judgment and Discovery. I think that because Danny judged Ty because Ty was getting all the attention. The theme is Discovery because Danny discovers that Ty can be really nice. I was moved by when Ty got a famous person to be in the Talent show. I liked the way the author made it 1st person point of view so you can experience it.

I can relate to Danny because I have been in a situation like him. I can compare this to the Diary of The wimpy Kid books. I can because they both talk about their lives and conflicts with another person. I can relate this to my life because I have experienced the things they have so it crazy how much we have in common!

I think this book was a really great book. I'd give this book 7 from a scale from 1 to 10. I gave it 7 because its a great book because I like books told in 1st person point of view and also its entertaining. I would recommend this to who ever is interested reading other people life stories. This book was interesting to me but I don't know about you. YOU SHOULD GIVE IT A CHANCE !

THANK YOU

Have you ever had that one person, that one attention grabber? you know the one that steals all of your friends with good looks or maybe the way they talk like a accent? Well Danny Shine knows what its that like in the book The Loser List: Revenge of the Loser. The genre of this book would mostly be Adventure because Danny tries to find a flaw about Ty Randall, new student and the attention grabber. I think this book was really boring despite that I didn't like the jokes cause they were not really funny. I thought it was going to have some real comedy but sadly didn't so this book made me really disappointed. Danny feels that Ty purposely one-up him but Ty doesn't know that cause he thinks it normal. Of course this bothers Danny and tries to get them back by reminding about his new comic that he made and thinks it so awesome, but again everyone ignores him , stuffing their faces with questions for Ty like how they could help with all the charities he was helping out. Danny starts to become jealous and wants to bring down Ty because he was so good at all things and not only that got Danny's crush to talk to him just by sitting in the lunchroom and talking. After Computer Graphics Club was over Danny goes to hit the bathroom where he thinks he's alone. First he goes to check out the stall walls to check for new graffiti. he suddenly hears a noise and this tells him he's not alone. he hears that someone was rapping as he got closer, he realized that it was Ty rapping horribly. Straight to the point Danny and his friend tell the principle that they want to have a talent show and he says yes but you have to wait a year. the boys exclaimed that they said that they want to do it in a month. Mr.Amundson said that there's no space and that you'll need approval from the student council. Aka the meanest teacher Mr.Kulbarsh by surprised approved and next came try outs. They ended up having a horrible try outs. The theme of this books is to be glad with what you have. The title relates to the story because Danny just wanted to get on the loser list. I was angry and still am angry about how the author tried to make jokes but didn't succeed. I would rat this book a 2/5 because I loved the illustrations but the jokes again probably made for a 5 yr. old. I would recommend this book to 2nd graders and up. Would you consider yourelf as a attention grabber?

have you ever been left out by someone more awesome or cooler than you? Well in this fiction story Danny Shine is getting revenge on him for talking to Asia O'Neil which is Danny Shine secret crush so he starts to get jealous when Ty Randall the cool kid talks to Asia. So he plans to get revenge on him. Therefore my opinion on this book it was really good, funny and entertaining book.

Although this book mostly took place at their school called Gerald Ford Middle School. Danny shine wanted to get revenge on Ty Randall for talking to Asia (Danny's secret crush). But he ended up knowing that Ty Randall was a really a nice guy not just some mean dude. So they ended liking each other . Then they became friends. Therefore this book conflict was person vs person because Ty thought Danny was mean for trying to get revenge on him. Danny shine thought Ty was trying to date his secret crush. these were some of the details on the characters in this book.Ty Randall is cool he is Danny Shine enemy .Danny shine is a loser but he gets jealous when Ty Randall talks to Asia so plans to get revenge on him. Jasper is Danny's friend.

My opinion on this book was. Danny Shine Changed when he figured out who Ty Randall was. I wish that he Danny shine wouldn't be a loser and be like Ty Randall. The main character was Danny Shine he was a very funny in this book. My favorite part was when Danny got mad a Ty Randall. this book is text to text.

Therefore this book relates to similar books like.wayside school, Diary of A Wimpy Kid, Big Nate and Dork Diaries. Some Similar authors are Lincoln Pierce,Jeff Kinney,Louis Sachar and Rachel Renee Russel.

In conclusion i will rate this book 9.5 because it could have been more funnier. i would recommend this book to whom ever likes funny and exciting books. So this was my book review.

The Loser List #2: Revenge of the Loser is a humorous book that tells about how enemies can become friends. Danny is an unpopular kid who like to make comic books and just got off the Loser List. Ty is the new kid in school who is popular because he likes the environment and he is nice to people. Jasper is Danny 's best friend and they work together to get renvenge on Ty for taking away their popularity. Danny and Jasper step up a talented show to rasie money for school playground and to embarrass Ty. " TY Randall must die", " I came up with the talent show idea, figuring we could kill two birds with one stone: raise to renovate the playground, and get Ty to publically embarrass himself". Ty doeas embarass himself when he sings and surpriseingly Danny feels bad. "I'd take it back if I could, maybe we could just... start over? Ty nodded "Yeah."
I like the book because it shows how enemies can become friends by just getting to know each other.
It is related to Dairy of a Wimpy Kid series cause it about middle school too. Greg and Danny are alike because both of them are unpopular and they get picked on a lot.
This book is realizic fiction and if you are into other genres its probaply not the book for you.
Boys would like it more than girls would because its mostly talks about boy problems then about girl problems.
Rating scale:
1 is "Needs more power."
2 is "Meh!"
3 is "Adquate."
4 is "Super great!"
5 is "Wow factor."
I'll give it 5 because I learned that it can be possible to have enemies that then become friends.

The Loser list revenge of the loser by: H.N. Kowitt is a story about two best friends named Danny and Jasper who have a new kid named Ty moves into their school and is stealing all of their attention. They try to get all of it back but it turns out Ty is a really nice guy who is throwing a green party for the school. Ty is about to go on stage and a really bad song he wrote and Danny id the only one who knows about it. Danny wants him to sing it but he does the right thing and goes out there and sings it for him. At first everyone is laughing at him but a famous skateboarder shows up and Danny Ty and the famous skateboarder sing it together and everyone joins in.

I really liked this book overall. My favorite part of the book was when they sang the song together at the end and everyone joined in. "This rap is so sick! Come on everyone sing it with me!" said skye because it was the climax of the story.

I would recommend this book to 6th to 8th graders who like a laugh and a funny and inspirational story.

I liked this book but I thought that It wasn't really for me, it was like for 4th graders. but anyways about that, you should read it an think if it is for 4th graders or for you? and like everybody says you should never juge a book for its cover! if you like it recommend it to other friends or family or even somebody you don't even know. then if they like it they will pays it on to other people. well in this book that there's a boy name Danny shine and his friend are trying to make a fun raiser to have a class field trip to big kahuna water park but this boy named Ty Randall convince the other people to help the poor people and there Danny shine doesn't know what to do. I can compare to Danny shine because he's outgoing and trying to think of solutions to answer the problem-not quit. I can prove this because it says 'the whole point was to go to the freakin water park! to give us something to look forward to, after a year of pie charts and decimals and salute to semicolons worksheets. a place where we can forget everything for a few hours, eat caramel corn, and get soaking wet. was that too much to ask?" thanks for reading my review.

Stručně a vtipně psaný příběh nás přímo láká k rychlému přečtení a velmi povedené obrázky uvnitř knihy nám k tomu ještě dopomáhají. Jsou vážně na každé straně a ztotožňují se s obrázky, které si k ději tvoříte samy uvnitř své hlavy. Knihu bych doporučila spíše mladším věkovým kategoriím a třeba i těm, kteří čtení moc nedají. Možná vás vystraší počet stran (240), ale díky obrázkům, velkému písmu a krátkým větám psaným v hovorové češtině, to zhltnete za jedno odpoledne. Příběh je zábavný, milý a příjemně člověka uklidní a uvolní, zkrátka takové skvělé odreagování.

When Danny Shine sees Asia, the girl he has a crush on, talking with the new kid, Ty Randall, not only does he get jealous, he wants to get even. Ty is a kid devoted to saving the planet and is involved in many eco-friendly projects, but when Danny hears Ty rapping, he knows he has found Ty’s weak spot. Planning a school wide talent show to publicly humiliate Ty is more work than Danny and his friend, Jasper, bargained for. Written in the journal style of DIARY OF A WIMPY KID, there is plenty of sarcasm, wit, humor, and goofy drawings. I thought the book had great characters; boys and girls who were basically good kids. Danny learns from his mistakes and misjudgments, which makes this book more appealing to me, as an adult. Although this is the 2nd book in the series, it can be read alone. There is some content that makes it unsuitable for younger than 5th grade.

So I found myself somewhat endeared to the first Loser List book. I thought it was a decent Wimpy Kid-esque contemporary YA book that mostly succeeded in what it was trying to do. Unfortunately, the second book in the series isn't nearly as good.

The conceit in this one is that our loser protagonist is now threatened by a new cool kid in school. The kid is an over-the-top environmentalist type, helps out all over the place, is a good artist, knows famous people, etc. So, of course, he must be destroyed.

It just really doesn't make a lot of sense. There's no real motive for doing this that fits in with what's already established, and the book lacks the humor and good nature that the first one had, and just feels...lacking. Very unfortunate.

Wish I had realized this was part of a series!

It was really interesting to see that cool kid in school was an over-achieving do gooder. That's a change from last decade! A little slow at certain plot points, but fun, funny, and the good message at the end seems to work and is not too preachy.

The marketing of this book doesn't lie as your Diary of the Wimpy Kid/Big Nate fanatics will totally be attracted to this book's mixed media and wittiness.

Danny Shine goes to Ford Gerald Middle School, he wants to just become popular through his artistic skills. Although, a new kid has come to school; his name: Ty Randell. Now, Danny wants to neutralize this threat by making him look moronic because Ty is winning many awards and opportunities, some that should have been Danny's . Then Danny tries to embarrass Ty and make himself look more cool and popular. The Loser List: Revenge of the Loser's two main theme are revenge and jealousy.

The book Revenge of the Loser by H.N. Kowitt is about after Danny Shine gets his name off the list he is faced with a new problem this guy named Ty Randall who is perfect and a great drawer is becoming more popular and danny wants to claim that he is a better drawer than Ty to get the girl of his dreams. Kowitt uses a student tone to represent the main character Danny. I would recommend this book to middle school students because that is where it is based.

It's not quite as funny as Diary of a Wimpy Kid, but has a similar feel and look and is entertaining. Basic premise of the sequel to the Loser List: Danny is no longer on the loser list, but he has a new problem: the new kid Ty is too perfect and ruining Danny's reputation as an artist, so he decides to get revenge.

An okay runner up to the first book, but just not as interesting. There wasn't as much going on in this novel and that made for a slow read at times. The emotional struggle Danny bounces through isn't really as intriguing as in the first novel, so the suspense is less than stellar.
