Lori Wilde can’t remember a time when she didn’t want to write. She even went to nursing school so she could have a schedule flexible enough to allow her to write on the side. She nursed for 20 years, working in a variety of settings from the newborn nursery to the recovery room, to dialysis. But she never lost her desire to write.
She sold her first book in 1994 to Silhouette Romance but later discovered she had a flair for comedy and branched out to Harlequin Duets and now, to Blaze.
Lori is an adventuresome soul who loves to travel. She’s taken flying lessons, completed two marathons, rode in a hot-air balloon, performed with a professional jazz band, traveled Europe as a teenager, hiked volcanoes in Hawaii, trod on glaciers in Alaska, shot white-water rapids, water-skied, snow-skied, raced all-terrain vehicles, bodysurfed in the Gulf of Mexico, and photographed grizzly bears in Yellowstone.
She lives in her native Texas, with her own real-life hero, Bill.
This was a quick read but I am finding myself at lost here because This story mostly focuses on Raylene daughter and her romance with Nate. So this left Raylene and Earl romance the back drop and that left me disappointed because this was to be their story not about the daughter finding someone. I also thought Shannon took to her mother too quickly. I know I am being picky but I wanted this novella to be about Raylene finding her daughter and love again with Earl, not the way this went down. Heck Raylene doesn’t even see Earl face to face until the end of the book….
If you want to know about Shannon and coming to find her mother and someone to love, well this is for you. Just don’t expect for Raylene and Earl heating up these pages because they don’t.

A Christmas setting for a sweet story about mistakes, forgiveness, finding oneself and finding home, true love and a couple of HEAs. Wish it had been longer.
Christmas in Twilight, Texas is filled with magic, love and hokey holiday traditions that make a reader want to keep coming back to this wonderful town with its spectacular cast of characters. This is a short holiday read that will have you captivated by not one but two emotional love stories, one old and one new.
It's nearly Christmas in Twilight and Raylene Pringle has a major case of the holiday blues. She's had no word from Earl since last Christmas, needs to hire a cocktail waitress for the Horny Toad Tavern and harbors feelings of regret for the daughter she gave up so long ago. Raylene's story is a carry-over from Wilde's First Love Cookie Club however it is only a secondary plot in this story.
The main love story here is for Shannon Dugan, a polished New York socialite who has come to Twilight to confront the mother who gave her up at birth and never looked back. Shannon is struggling to get her life back together. Her life was turned upside down last Christmas with the passing of her grandfather, discovering her husband was a con man who cleaned out her bank accounts and then the visit from Earl Pringle with the shocking news that her birth mother was alive and well in Twilight, Texas. Shannon has come to Twilight to get some answers and gets more than she bargained for, a man who wants her and maybe a new start on life.
Nate Deavers, the hero of this story is a retired Navy SEAL now a gas rig worker who is trying to forget his memories of the war in Afghanistan. Nate is a regular of the Horny Toad Tavern, who drops in for one drink and a little company. Then one fateful day he catches sight of a gorgeous pair of legs and then the profile of the owner of those spectacular legs and Nate knows he is a goner. He wants nothing more than to get to know Shannon and comes on strong and yet so sweetly. He is one of those brooding, strong and silent types who is looking for that one person who is his other half and isn't afraid to wait for her to come along. He believes Shannon is that one.
Lori Wilde never ceases to amaze me with her talent for creating a story that grabs a reader's emotions and won't let go. This story made me feel a gamut of emotions from sadness for Raylene, sympathy for Shannon and made me want to cheer for Nate. Wilde gives her readers true insight into her characters' minds with vivid descriptions and imagery and a romantic story that pulls on our heartstrings. Although it may not be necessary to read the other stories in Wilde's Twilight series, I would recommend that readers at least read The First Love Cookie Club before reading this particular short story, only because this story is really a continuation from there and I think readers will be able to understand this story better and like it that much more.
The Christmas Cookie Chronicles: Raylene was another great addition to Wilde's Twilight series which is a favorite of this reader and I recommend picking this up if you like one of those feel good holiday stories with a little laughter, a little tears and a really happy ending.
Good holiday story about forgiveness and reconciliation.
Raylene and Earl were childhood sweethearts, but were torn apart when Earl found out Ray had a daughter from a youthful one-night stand with Dallas Cowboys QB Lance Dugan. A year has passed since Earl left Raylene, and Ray posts a help wanted sign in her bar's window. It is answered by newcomer Shannon 'Nagud', who has come looking for her mother.
I liked that the story wasnt just about Raylene, but was about Shannon and former Navy Seal Nate Deavers, who is one of the Horny Toad's regulars and is taken with Shannon at first sight. A sweet courtship ensues, with Nate introducing Shannon to all Twilight has to offer. Two happy endings by book's end.
Next section of this book is about Raylene and we know from previous books that she was once married to Earl (for 35 years) but when he found out about something in her past that she neglected to tell him about he left on Christmas eve. She works at the Horny Toad Bar in town... She wanted closure and agreed to let Nate, a returned from the war SEAL hang up Christmas decorations for her. She also put a 'help wanted' sign in the window of the bar. Shannan Dugan had wandered into town and applied and got the job. She had been dealt a raw hand after her grandparents had died.. Lots of mysteries and secrets and I love the talk about the cookie swap! Hot steamy sex scenes..
I enjoyed this second Christmas Cookie Chronicle. I think it did benefit from being a bit longer than the previous installment. Having a new love story and a lost love story all wrapped up together was enjoyable and each of these Chronicles has me falling more in love with Twilight. While I don't normally read series back to back, I decided the three chronicles were close enough in length to be considered one book and am fudging my usual rule a tad :-)
This is a very quick read. I think this book was better that the first one. Maybe because the characters were fully developed in the first book, and you get to know them more fully in this story. The story and the characters seemed more mature and confident to me in this book. Definately recommend it.
This is a very cute novella. Unfortunately, you'll find yourself pretty lost if you haven't read any of the other books in the Twilight, Texas, series. That said, fans of the series will very much enjoy the update on Raylene and Earl's marriage and learning about Raylene's now grown daughter.
Another quick fun Christmas book! I like these easy reads for my bust christmasy life, they fit right in!! The characters weren't super relatable, and there was more steamy romance than I normally read, but overall it was a quick fun story!
For what I needed at the time this book was perfect mind candy and provided a much needed escape. Everyone should have a Nate Derkus in their stocking this year!
