Negotiation is not just a process, it's an attitude-and one that we all can learn. Internationally recognized expert Patrick Collins presents an original, comprehensive guide to maximizing negotiation skills. Readers will learn how to overcome the fear of negotiation, assess situations, and apply the appropriate strategy. Illuminating techniques include: how to manipulate the environment and when to bluff or confront.
I should say that this book was not very good written or maybe it was not the style I get on with, but the advice are really good and I would say that 90% after reading this book you would win every argument effortlessly. The best part of it is that it takes real life experiences plus theories that makes you think about every negotiation you made I mean most important ones how you could have won them if you read this book before and something else that I have to mention when I finished this book I directly went to the bookstore and I bought a series and two other books for half the price they normally sell and you know that book stores have price tags so they don't do discounts but with all the motivation I took from this book I won a very good negotiation that I'm quite proud of.
The book makes some valid points and has some original ideas on negotiating techniques. I appreciate the ideas are delivered in a concise manner. Easy to read.
It still tends to present things from the author's perspective (which, like any human's exeprience, is ultimately limited), but I found some useful stuff for my future negotiations :)
I read this book when I was 22 years old, it is a very good book for a teenager turning into adults. It contains a very hands on experience of negotiation tactics. The strategies are also easy to be applied. Enjoy!
Negotiate to Win! by Patrick Collins is a short and easy-to-read book focused on teaching you how to negotiate. It does this by using a lot of real life examples and giving short tips on tactics ranging from very basic to advanced. The book does sometimes become a bit repetitive which might hamper its effectiveness. Would still recommend the book!
A lot that’s intuitive and can be a bit repetitive, but also contains some useful principles. I expect the best parts of this book would be equally well covered in any decent book on negotiation, so not sure I’d recommend this specific book to anyone over other options in the genre, but if it’s already on the shelf (as it was for me), you could do worse.
Helpful for people in sales. It's a good book when you're a beginner and want some tips. It's direct to the point so reading it is fast-paced. It does have new skills that you can practice. Although in the digital age of zoom calls some info feels outdated
This book was short, but boy reading it was like entertaining a dry texter. Yes, it is brief. Yes, it has some useful tactics with real life examples.. but man, there were so many times when I legit dozed off whilst reading it. So if you don't already have this lying around in your office (as in my case), find a better book on negotiation tactics!
I came upon this book in an airport book store. Without having any previous knowledge about the book I bought it and was quite satisfied in the end. This book is packed with useful information which made it quiet hard to take notes. A great read about negotiations strategies and tactics.
As with many new skills, negotiating takes courage. It's not normal to strategically seek out the best bargain for yourself. It takes an unshakeable confidence in yourself and this book helps you develop that alongside negotiating tips.
As being Young Mediator, my expectations were high, thats why I've found it very simple book. But for the ones who have no idea about negotiation, it may be quite beneficial for them.
