2018 Reading Challenge - A novel based on a real person

This play is based off a compilation of stories of young Black South Africans of the trial of Andrew Zondo, all taking place under Apartheid rule. It follows the story of the fictitious character, Jacob Zulu. He goes from being the timid son of a preacher in Black township, to an ANC operative who carries out a bombing in a shopping center during the Christmas holidays that kills several people. Throughout his trial there are flashbacks to his life and the experiences that brought him to the place where he made his fateful decisions. Overall, it is an interesting study in humanity. I can tell it would be much more powerful in its' stage play form, because of the music of Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
