This is an all new edition that includes a new chapter on the 2012 Consistory. Timothy Dolan was elevated to a Cardinal on February 18, 2012 in Rome. This new edition has over 60 new color photographs of the Consistory in Rome.
There is also some very intimate details of conversations Bob Dolan had that week in Rome with other Cardinals from throughout the world, and how many believe this could be the man that could very well be our next Pope.
There is also a very interesting account about a nun who had a vision of Cardinal Dolan standing on the balcony over the entrance to St. Peter's Basilica.
An intimate look at the Life and Spirituality of the priest that 60 minutes calls The American Pope. Bob Dolan has had a front row seat to the life of his brother Archbishop Timothy M. Dolan for the past 50 years. The stories he tells are both heart warming and entertaining. Even more, we have a wonderful picture of the spirituality that is at the heart of this faithful servant of God. He speaks to us on a level that is rare in today's Catholic church and gives a refreshing and uplifting road map for following Christ.
This was a great book. Not so much as like a great literary work by any means but its story and content are very uplifting to me. It truly made me miss and better appreciate the short time we had Dolan as our Archbishop here in the Milwaukee area. His vision of our church and faith are so very much why I became a Catholic. His brother did a nice job of conveying the kind of man Bishop Dolan is. If ever we have a man from America that has the potential spiritually to be Pope it is him. Its his deep, but simplistic love of god and what makes our church special. The story of their father dying of a heart attack and later when they looked in this hard working honest mans wallet to see he passed on with nary a dollar in his wallet. Its men like him that have made this a great nation. Men who love there country, family, faith, and most importantly god. These are the kind of people who are heroes. But the book inspired me to rethink how I feel about my world some days. I finished reading it understanding that no fame or monetary goal will ever truly fulfill me. But if I die leaving a legacy of people who love me and my children are good people I have succeeded as a man, a father, citizen and most importantly as a believer in Christ. Thank you Bishop Dolan and Bob Dolan for sharing such a wonderful insightful story of family and life and a little of what makes Bishop Dolan tick....
As a Milwaukee Catholic, i had the honor of seeing Archbishop Dolan in action and listening to his brother Bob on te radio. This book provides great insight as to what shaped the Cardinal (strong, loving family and great priests and sisters in his early years). It portrays a man of great compassion, faith, humor and leadership.
