The Cardmaker's Workbook: The Complete Guide to Design, Color, and Construction Techniques for Beautiful Cards

Rate this book
The most complete volume on card making availableThe Cardmaker's Workbook is the only book on cardmaking that a crafter will ever need, and is formatted in a sturdy volume that can kept on the desk and referred to again and again. The book is divided into chapters focusing on composition, color, theme, construction and inspiration. Instructions are clear but concise, making room for large pictures and multiple variations. It has the look of a designer's notebook with sketches and templates that show different card formats. Unlike other cardmaking books available that are occasion driven or aren't stylized, The Cardmaker's Workbook provides an inspiring and hands-on tool for paper addicts to use to expand their skills and stretch their imagination.

The designs cover many different styles, from detailed multi-layered beauties to simple cards that can be quickly made and given as a set of stationery.

A Dynamite High 5 Stars! An absolutely wonderful resource for anyone wanting to start in cardmaking or even seasoned cardmakers will find this very useful! Here you will find the basics of cardmaking such as how to fold the cards, some basic materials you will need and how to use those materials, color theory (which I found most helpful), how to create envelopes and even many sentiments to use in your cards. This book contains wonderful graphics and very detailed step-by-step processes for making many different card designs. You will definitely have a lot of fun making cards for your friends and family and save lots of money as well!

A really wonderful resource that needs to be added to any crafter's room!

Good Essentials

This book is very worthwhile for newbies and veteran card-makers alike, but for very different reasons! For the newbie, many essential skills are addressed and a good variety of models to copy are presented so you get on your way easily. For the veteran, lots of ideas will help crush creative blocks and provide springboards for your own creations. It certainly is not the be all to end all, but is a worthy investment.

Definitely one of the best card-making books I have read! It really explored all the different ways and possibilities when making cards. The example layouts were nice, but somewhat repetitive. The techniques were wonderful however!

A good reference but I don't like the sample designs at all. Oh, well. To each his own,
