I read about half of this and gave up. It's a story about angels walking among us, sometimes falling in love with humans. Not my favorite type of paranormal. I felt that there was a cliched relationship between the female lead and the male (fallen angel) lead. I've read that same story line too many times before. It bored me.

Warning to readers. there is rape of the h while under demon posession in this book, any traumatic effects are mentioned as 'just having some bad dreams afterwards'.

SPOILERS AHEAD!!

Okay, first of all... too much sex. Second of all, too little plot. I'd jump to 73% for more action and less joined bodies AND ACTUAL plot. If you're smart, you will see the destiny at your fingertips, if not, she's bearing the next generation of three bloodlines thanks to the guy.
Now that the whole plot has come to pass, I can be a bit more conservative. Cassie is a psychic, Jared is a celestial trapped on earth due to a mistake, he too can be a psychic: but he can read a few thoughts, bend someone's will, read the history of objects, and apparently leak celestial knowledge through touch towards Cassie. Cassie seems something she shouldn't, and that will lead her to trouble and in need of Celestial protection; most of the book felt like these two wanted to rip each other's clothing, and at one point it felt like I was watching auto play on Pornhub or something; it just wouldn't stop - believe it or not, I wanted the plot. I got the plot. But dude, so little crumbs amidst of sex. Like I said, took a long time to get interesting. It was fun, but i could have done it without cabin sex six times.

An angel, a psychic, and a demon

Cassie is a professional mind reader and unknown to has at least two Angel lines in her ancestry that meets an angel and his friend in a bar. The lightbringer, Jared (angel) is charged with keeping Cassie alive and is told if he does so he will be forgiven for some mistakes he has done and allowed back in heaven. Jared is drawn to Cassie but knows he has to save her from the demon. Adult readers due to sexual and violent content.

Lightbringer

I loved the book. Cassie being a psychic and being open about it was great. I felt bad for Jared because he was being punished for failing in a job because of why he failed the job. What Jared turned out to be was a great twist to the story. Wish Gideon would have been in the story a little longer.

Lightbringer

This was a different world but still has the wounded hero and a wounded heroine. But both characters have overcome their hurts to become stronger individuals and great as a team. I enjoyed the book and plan to read the others in this series.

A psychic gets tangled up in the affairs of celestial beings.
A high heat level romance results between the psychic and an earthbound celestial.
The added level of evil and some action will engage you.

I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. This is my honest review.

I picked up this book during a free promotion. I've always loved books that deal with angels, demons and good vs. evil. This book seemed to promise all that and more from its description and I have to say it didn't disappoint.

Cassie Lewis is a psychic who sometimes gets visions from touching others, but they are not always good visions. When she accidentally bumps into Dave in a local restaurant, she is overwhelmed with a horrific vision of torture and murder. This sets into motion a series of events that will be deadly to Cassie if her "protector" Jared Price, can't save her. Cassie has a hard time believing Jared's story that he has been sent to "protect" her so she may fulfill some unknown destiny, but she has no problem getting intimate with the hunky guy. Turns out Jared is a celestial being sent to vanquish the evil that is stalking Cassie, but even he may not be enough to save her.

The characters are nicely flesh-out especially Cassie and Jared. The sizzle between those two is palpable and I would classify this story as more of an erotic romance or at the very least a very spicy one. Some of the scenes are more graphic than in a typical romance, but certainly nothing over the top. The story moves along at a good pace between the action and the romance. It all happens in only 4 days, but what 4 days they are! I would have liked to have read more about Jared and his exile on Earth although there are snippets as to why that happened. Fans of sexy romances will certainly enjoy this book.

Jared (Jaradiel) Price is a Celestial called a Lightbringer. Jared has been earthbound by his own choice even if it isn't a happy one. Jared is meeting up with his friend and fellow Celestial Guardian Gideon. Jared isn't sure what Gideon has to tell him but he's sure that it can't be good news. Cassie Lewis has always been treated differently because she's psychic. Cassie doesn't let this get her down it only makes her stronger. When Cassie bumps into Jared the most unexpected thing happens~an electric spark goes off between them. It takes all of Cassie's will power to touch Jared again for just that spark. Jared's reaction is as much as Cassie's. Jared and Gideon join Cassie and her friend Linda for dinner yet none of them could forsee what happens next. Cassie gets a clear vision of Linda being killed in her home which frightens Cassie terribly. Jared instantly champion's Cassie's cause that Linda shouldn't stay in her home. Gideon tells Jared that keeping Cassie alive is Jared's assignment with Michael's approval meaning he could return to the Celestial Realm. Jared is tempted by the idea of home yet doesn't trust that this assignment coming from Michael. Now Jared has to figure out a way to become apart of Cassie's life. Can Jared protect Cassie? Can either Cassie or Jared fight their mutual attraction? What is Linda hiding? Who wants to harm Cassie? Your answers await you in Lightbringer.

Overall, this book was good - the characters are likable, the villain is obvious, there's a good vs evil vibe going, and there's some romance and sex. The book starts off suddenly and a bit crudely (regarding the sexual tension) but that quickly gets overtaken with the actual plot of the story. Later on, the plot movement makes a complete stop for multiple pages of repetitive sex though the situation they're in is dangerous and time-sensitive, then finally the story gets started again.

I didn't feel like Jared was a realistic character. After over a hundred years of being alone, he suddenly falls head-over-heals for this girl based primarily on his lust for her. Then, conveniently, she is the person he's suppose to save. A little too contrived for me. On top of all that, everything he's worked SO hard for (returning to the Celestial Realm), he pretty much gives up just to make Cassie happy/comfortable. I'm not saying he should have coerced her in to anything, but seriously he's like thousands of years old and he instantaneously loses all self-preservation and autonomy. I also didn't like that the story didn't follow up on what happens with Linda - seems very important only to be left out at the end.

Psychic Cassie Lewis is Progeny. Somewhere in her lineage an ancestor or two slept with beings from the Celestial Realm because she’s carrying two of their bloodlines. Jared Price is a Lightbringer stuck on Earth for 150 years because he screwed up. The Guardians need help in protecting her from a demon attack and they offer Jared a chance to come home if he helps Guardian Gideon keep her alive. She has a destiny and it’s very important she live to see it through. But if Jared does his job and keeps her alive will he be able to leave her to go home?

I loved this story! Well-written and smooth flowing with interesting characters. Cassie is strong yet vulnerable and Jared is noble yet a bit flawed for a Celestial being. While there was a conclusion to this story I’d love to see even more written in this world and the ending implies there is more to tell. I’d love to read more!

LIGHTBRINGER re-envisions the angelic realm in this action-packed suspense in which Celestials can assume human form to move among mortals. There are rules, of course, and Jared was ostracized from the Celestial realm over a century ago for having broken them. Now, in order to redeem himself and return "home," he must succeed in his assignment to protect Cassie Lewis from the evil Aelziroth. Cassie has a destiny to fulfill. Aside from being a genuine psychic, she carries two Celestial bloodlines making her "Progeny."

The author possesses an impressive writing style that makes LIGHTBRINGER a pleasure to read. Her characters are well-realized, fully dimensional, and the story is well paced. If a warning is warranted as some reviewers suggest, it is for the few scenes of demon possession, leading to compulsory acts that may be uncomfortable for some. All in all, LIGHTBRINGER is a riveting read that will keep you reading into the wee hours and well deserving of 5 stars.

Well, I honestly didn't have high expectations for this. I got it for free on my Kindle and it sounded interesting enough to give a go for the price. And I was impressed by how much I liked it. It's got all the great elements of a mystery thriller with paranormal and romance thrown in. Or, that's how I enjoyed it. Someone with a different focus might say it's a romance with paranormal mystery thriller.

The characters were all really nicely done, well formed. and enjoyable. I didn't find any glaring plot holes and never once had to roll my eyes over any characters stupidity, inexplicable actions, or insipid ridiculousness as is so often the case with most books that could be called a romance of any sort. The rules of the paranormal for this book also made sense within their context allowing a completely reasonable suspension of reality.

In short, this book earned a nice grudging respect from me. How's that for a backhanded compliment?

Cassie: genuinely gifted psychic who becomes a target of a "demon".

Jared: a "Celestial" in human form (for the past 150 years) who is charged with protecting her.

When they accidentally touched, Cassie felt an electricity zing up her arm. Jared felt it too, but he ain't telling her that. He has to stay focused, has to keep his mental walls up so she can't see what he's feeling. He wants to go home. He can't do that if he doesn't stay focused.

It is really becoming one of the worst couple of days for Cassie...she wonders what's next. God, Jared is gorgeous and wouldn't it be wonderful to touch, taste, smell, feel him. Damn, got to stay focused. He won't tell her much about who is after her and why. He just keeps telling her that she has a destiny to fulfill. She is "Progeny".

Read the book to find out what happens. This is one in a series, but stands alone. Sexually graphic.

It was about a Fallen angel who gets another chance to go back to heaven if he can keep an assignment alive and her destiny on track. He finds himself in love with his assignment and may not want to go back home after all. I like this book. I've had it for ages but just now read it (due mostly to boredom at work). It was an interesting concept and this isn't the first book that places the Archeangel, Michael in a bad light. It seems Michael got upset because an assignment was failed to be met and he placed the blame solely on one angel. It also isn't the first time that Lucifer was cast as one of the good guys (go figure on that mess). But just another person doing a job. Like I said a good quick read when you have nothing better to do.

I enjoyed this book. I could relate to the characters and thoroughly enjoyed the mythology of angels, fallen angels, Apostates, etc. This book sometimes felt like a romance novel, and in some sense this is a love story, which would normally make me wince in agony. Bbut those parts of the book helped develop the relationship between Jared and Cassie which is central to the story. There are some minor glitches (typesetting errors, a word off here or there), but otherwise it is a quality product and I recommend reading it. I'm hopeful subsequent books in the Celestial Affairs series explore more of the mythology of seraphim and apostates as that was what piqued my interest the most.

The storyline of angels/demons/redemption is one that is difficult at best to make attractive to readers. Too close to religion, too close to ingrained morals to please everyone. Robertson does have a good imagination and the ability to bring it to light (excuse the pun) with her plot and characters. Speaking of characters, Cassie' s friend Linda could have been left out or interwoven closer into the story. Although she was introduced to bring Cassie into a scene whereby she meets Jared, her continued angst and abrasiveness did not lend anything to the development of the characters. A good read.

Exiled Celestial Jared wants to go home, and now's his chance. All he needs to do is watch over Cassie, defeat a demon, and *not* fall in love. Lightbringer is a great read with strong, appealing characters, a well-crafted plot, and an enjoyable take on what it means to be psychic. Highly recommended!

Cassie is psychic and her destiny is in jeopardy. Fortunately, she has a handsome celestial body named Jared to protect her from the demon who is trying to kill her. And along the way, there's plenty of getting to know each other *wink*. Frankie Robertson does a nice job with this erotic suspense.

I loved the action, romance, magic, sarcastic wit and the unworldly deities. Jared believed he had it all figured out until he met Cassie then his world became flipped upside down. How do you protect someone when they fight you all the way? Understanding? Charm? Wit? Cassie believed she was strong and could take care of herself until one night when everything changed. Should she trust him? What is he? Why can't she read him? Together they go on a magical action packed adventure that unearths feelings neither one thought that they could ever feel. Truly a book that should not be underrated or missed. Fair warning it is addictive.
