Active Server Pages, or ASP, is a Microsoft technology -- delivered with Internet Information Server -- that allows developers to create, deliver, and deploy interactive web applications. It is used in almost half the world's large Web sites, including e-commerce sites such as Dell's. There are close to a half million ASP developers. ASP can be now used with non-Microsoft Web servers and with Linux, which has increased the potential market. The latest version was released with Windows 2000.
